91  My pretty, pretty new cards in The Swap Gallery by summertimerolls on: February 29, 2008 06:42:58 AM
I came home yesterday to a wonderful package from untouchableface...she made me some fantastic cards...I can tell time were put into these!  And some very fun envelopes made from a calendar.  I'm going to have to try making some b/c they are so cool.
She also sent a pair of bamboo circular knitting needles which I'm going to try out on a baby blanket!  THanks so much, it was a wonderful package!

92  funny faces in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by summertimerolls on: February 26, 2008 03:36:41 PM
I made some faces for a swap.  My partner is a middle school asst. principal, she said the kids would really like these faces.
Addicted2knitting received these little guys and wanted me to post the pictures.

I had one more picture but I can't seem to find it.  But you get the idea.

I didn't get to make one for Valentine's day, but I did make one for my mom who is trying to quit smoking.

Here are a few examples of my book.  Thanks for the previous posters for all the great ideas.

Holy Crap.  I got the most wonderful package from parlophone today.  Seriously, it was so thoughtful.  She found out my favorite book (The Little Prince) and made an awesome wall hanging with cd's, quotes and pictures.  It is an open frame with cd's suspended with wire.  The CDs are covered with pictures and quotes from the book. I already have it up on my wall.  The color in the background is actually the wall color...plus she used an 'ugly' frame (her words not mine) but used it backward b/c the back has a rustic look.  I thought it was rather clever plus it looks great.  Thanks so much!

95  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 13 (signups til March 15)(sendouts by April 5) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by summertimerolls on: February 20, 2008 07:45:53 PM
I just wanted to check to see if anyone would be interested in a set of these type of magnets before I sign up and if you like how many should be offered?  They are about an inch in diameter and are made from sculpy.  They have super strong magnets on the back.

I'd be intersted if we could pick which ones we want.  As for how many, I guess that depends on how much you think they are worth.  Where I live, I'm thinking they would sell for about $2-$3 each so you'd have to offer at least 3 but in other places they would sell for lots more.

That's the hard thing I find about this swap - prices are SO different depending where you live.

Well I was thinking about making five per set.  Each set would be the same,  because they are easier to 'mass produce' that way.  So I guess people would be happy with five in a set?  Also, I have some that look like this too.

These are such great swap packages so far!   I got a package from bkrenning4.  She claimed me for handmade cards.  She said she got to play around with a cricut machine at a scrapbook event.  I've already used 2 of the cards!!!  Thanks so much bkrenning4, these are great!

98  Nifty New Craft Room- in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by summertimerolls on: February 07, 2008 04:47:37 PM
So, my husband and I were talking about moving some rooms around in our house.  We needed a bigger dinning room, so the living room got the dinning room furniture and then we were left with a rather nice sized room with nothing in it....what are you thinking???  IKEA trip and a craft room we now have!!!  I don't have before pictures of the dinning room/new craft room but I can tell you that there was 1980's floral wall paper on top of a chair rail and pale yellow paint on the bottom.  Not anymore!
I don't know what made be brave enough to paint this room brown, but I love it!  Painting with this paint was like painting with brownie batter.  I've never painted with paint so thick.

So, here are some pictures:
Ikea furnished the room.  We brought home to massive countertop units with storage drawers, a glass oval 5' long table, 3 wall box shelves, lamps and oodles of fun small stuff...in one van with 2 kids, 2 adults and a weeks worth of vacation packing.  I love IKEA's packaging!!!  So here we go:  This is the plain counter piece

And this is what I did to it.  I added papers behind the glass to hid the mess inside and to make it pretty.

This is the way the room started...clean

And the way it normally looks:

I got my package from igobylorib today!!!
She sent me oodles of different kinds of paper which is so much fun.
And she made me some marble magnets in a marble shape I've never seen before...plus they go so well with my craft room colors!  I tried to get the wall color in one pic.  Thank you so much, I am so excited!

100  baby blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by summertimerolls on: January 29, 2008 07:56:08 AM
So this is not anything super exciting or creative, but I did like the way it turned out.  This blanket was made for a friend's baby ( I was only four months late in getting it to her).
I wanted to do blue, but not too much baby blue.  I ended up liking the colors a lot.
I used Caron simply soft, and a cluster pattern...it was very heavy when it was finished so I knew it would be warm.  She lives 'up north' so it gets pretty cold.

And this is how I sent it to her...now I know this isn't a new idea but I didn't have ribbon and in about 2 minutes I had a great way to tie it up!!!
