1  Vegan Border Collie Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by kristi on: December 21, 2003 01:54:13 AM
I made this little guy as a present for my herding instructor:

He's based on the vegan fox from Knitty.com (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTveganfox.html).  I used Sirdar Snowflake rather than the Splash, and a generic worsted weight acrylic yarn rather than the Merino Frappe as that's what I had lying around.

In true border collie fashion, he has a white tip on his tail, a white ruff, a split face (half black half white) and white stockings (none of which show up so well in this photo).  Oh yeah, he's based on one of my herding instructor's dogs, Patch, so his name is Patch Jr.  :-)

Here's the original Patch:

BTW, these scarves are suprisingly warm!

I love the teddy. Panda would tear that to shreds, but she'd have a great time doing so. hehe

Neither of my dogs is a chewer so they can have little knitted animals.

And her name is Wicked because she is pure, unmitigated evil.  Oh and because she's wicked fast.  Here she is at Halloween as, you guessed it, a wicked witch:

I'm working on a little Xmas scarf for her as she is one of the few dogs who loves to wear clothes.

Why YES, Panda is a border collie, or maybe a mix. She is either all B.C. or half Australian Shepard.

Here's my border collie, Wicked, snuggling with her 'little bear':

And here's Bear (AussieX) learning about where wool comes from:

Hope to have the vegan border collie scarf done before Christmas (with a kajillion other things).

That blue kitty is much nicer than mine - but here she is anyways.

5  Ideas for Sirdar Snowflake Chunky in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by kristi on: December 03, 2003 10:39:05 AM
Looking for ideas - as a hopeless eBay addict, I've just bought a bunch of Chunky Sirdar Snowflake, described as 'odds and ends, total weight over 24 oz'.

Aside from scarves and phone cozies, any ideas as to what I can do with this stuff?

Thanks!

I finished my vegan fox scarf.  Using those big #10 needles made it easy and fast.

The kit is available at Fuzzy Galore (http://www.fuzzygalore.biz/cp/vfox.shtml)  The one above is from the Latte fox kit.  I call him 'Frank'.
