I love both of them! For the cover up, did you braid the bottom and sleeves or was the fabric like that? Either way, I really like how it turned out. That swimsuit is so creative in its design. Great work! I bet you are glad that your project is finished!

I cut the fabric into strips and crocheted the edges and knitted the sleeves.

Hey, haven't posted on these forums for ages (been very busy with uni!) but I'm back now and I've made lots of things!!! I thought I'd post one a day until I'm all caught up.
This was one of my main projects for this semester, we had to design a swimsuit and cover-up around our own interpretation of an 'Australiana' theme. I grew up in the Snowy Mountains, so, while it's not typically what everyone associates with Australia, I chose to design my collection inspired by the snowy mountains in NSW - my australia!

so, the swimsuit:

and the cover-up (inspired by typically snuggly winter clothing):

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Uni project - pleated dress! on: June 15, 2008 02:55:40 AM
our major project this semester was to get fabric pleated and drape a dress inspired by one of the poems we were given. my poem was called 'Grey' and I was working with the line 'simply grey like a world falling into decay'. I was really disappointed with it at first cause the proportions ended up being completely different to what I wanted, so the dress doesn't look very good on my but luckily, it looks great on my friend jess who was my model for the presentation. yay! (it's probably obvious from the poem, but my dress is the grey one).
