I have another page to post, I finished it yesterday. I go to a Visual Journaling group once a month and we usually have a prompt to work on. We choose a prompt the month before and then discuss it the next time we meet... anyway.. the prompt last month was " I can only save myself ... my mother is going down with the ship" I changed it a little as I wrote about something that happened in the past.... you won't be able to read most of the writing because the pen didn't have a lot of contrast to the page and I blurred t as well.. however I was really happy with the way the page turned out...
I finally have some pages to post... I tried last night, but it seems that my computer, Firefox and photobucket don't do well together... I didn't realize how many I had finished and not posted... so anyway here they are...
they aren't in any particular order as I sometimes do lots of backgrounds and then later do work on a page that seems to suit a picture or them that I want to put on there.
My shrine was based on the song Night & Day sung by Frank Sinatra. I originally wanted to use a glass moon that I have as part of the surprise, so I was looking for a quote about moons & love. This song popped up as part of the search and because of the way this box is made I thought it would be the perfect thing. Turned out that the moon wouldn't fit, but I like the way this turned out anyway.
It hangs on the wall... all the metal pieces were different metals so I colored them with a bronze metallic sharpie... it blended them all together a little better
the back... these are part of the lyrics for the song
the drawer pulled out... I guess there a a few surprises with this shrine- the color of the inside is different than the outside...it was made with two small matchboxes, the insides of the outer part of the box were cut off and I taped the pieces together... the inside drawers were glued together. It measures at just under 2X3 inches without the dangling charms. and then there's my frame inside
the inside of the drawer and back view of drawer
I made the frame inside, it will hold a 1 inch picture and will stand up on it's own.. the picture will slide in from the top... I don't have a picture to put in there so I just wrote the word Love on a scrap of paper and used it
It's good to know that both my packages arrived safely. When you post pictures like those I can't believe I got all that stuff in those small boxes Everybody is getting such great stuff.
varifiresis I'm glad that you liked the Brian Froud card, he does great art. I always like to hear that something in the package works well with things someone already has.
stellato_escuro I'm glad you liked your things as well. That bat ATC was made with a photo I took at the zoo in October. Bats are hard to take pictures of without flash (at least for me with my camera) so I was happy that a few came out fairly well.
I've already started using some of the papers and fabric that I received from RougeRaven & lady4feet. The paper went onto one my altered journal pages and the fabric is being used as backgrounds for some ATCs. Haven't finished any of them yet as I have some Christmas projects going and I need to finish them first, but they are being used
I almost forgot, I can't remember who, but someone wanted to see a close up picture of the pendants lady4feet sent so here it is... my favorite is the green one ...
Sorry I didn't get these posted yesterday, but my computer decided it didn't like me and wouldn't upload the photos. Anyway we are doing better today and here are the photos of the things I received from lady4feet... lots of pics coming
first... I received lots of fabric squares in assorted sizes
more fabric, but triangles now, plus Asian papers & an Asian food catalog... it's got some great pictures inside too
assorted papers, text and pictures from several different books, some wildlife calendar pages, love those. also some ribbon. I already have plans for the coca cola scraps there for a Christmas stocking stuffer for my sister
more paper! I love those bats, lots of stamped images, they always come in handy and that stapled envelope has lots of the red sequins you can see on top of it
more paper and stamped images. some charms, funny thing is, I think I wanted a fork and knife for something, but I can't remember what it was Also some glass stamp pendants ... did you make those?
Everything is great and I can see many uses for some of it already, but out of what she sent these are my favorites.. I love leopards and a bra charm is something I've looked for.
I received the other day from RougeRaven. I meant to get it posted yesterday, but things got in the way. Anyway here it all is...
the first three pictures show all the paper she sent... the first set are the largest pieces, followed by smaller pieces and some word stickers...
the next set is assorted paper ephemera, tags & a domino
assorted images to use
I like everything above and can think of lots of uses for them, but these below are my favorite pieces... I love that leaf paper and you can't see it very well, but there is a little moon bead next to the red heart, both of which I have plans for already, I don't think I've ever seen frames like those in copper. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the flower vellum pocket envelope, but I love it
Thanks so much RougeRaven!
I also received from lady4feet today, I'll try and post all the goodies she sent tomorrow
I hope to send my boxes out on Wednesday. I have tomorrow off so I should be able to get them done.
