1  Painting in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by preciousrubies on: July 28, 2008 07:43:38 PM
Here's a painting of a photograph of my brother and myself at the beach many years ago. It is probably one of my favorite pictures, ever. I painted it for my mother for mother's day. Smiley

Hey! Haven't posted in a while, cause I've been busy with school. But now that summer's almost here, I'm sure to be crafting up a storm! woot.

here's a cute boy. if i end up using this as a patch or something, i'll cut around his head so he doesn't look like he has weird hair:

thanks for looking! Smiley

3  Letters for Twins in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by preciousrubies on: February 06, 2008 04:16:09 PM
A set of twins distantly related to me had their first birthday about a week ago. I painted these wooden letters (from michaels) for them. E is for Elizabeth and H is for Harrison. I tried not to gender stereotype the colors, so I used purple and green. i painted them when i was feverish and sleepy, but i persisted! Smiley

and here they are with my hand for scale.

4  Bobby McFerrin design in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by preciousrubies on: January 29, 2008 04:54:56 PM
so i bought this sweat shirt at a thrift store for one dollar, thinking i could do something with it. then i was looking at this bobby mcferrin website (i'm a fan... check my other posts) and they're selling this shirt that i loved, and i was like "i could make that... and do it better."  Cheesy

so this is what i came up with! i'm very proud.

thanks for looking!  Smiley

5  Bobby McFerrin Painting in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by preciousrubies on: January 29, 2008 04:38:06 PM
my second complete painting ever... the subject, bobby mcferrin, is an incredible and inspiring singer. look him up on youtube and watch some of his stuff. he's so cool.

he's incredible to watch, he just seems very relaxed and just... cool. i don't know any other word to describe it. with this painting, i wanted to capture his passion when he sings and his... coolness.

6  My first real, complete painting EVER in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by preciousrubies on: January 28, 2008 08:54:10 PM
This is the first painting I ever completed that wasn't for a class. I'm so proud! It's a picture of my grandfather and myself when I was about 1 1/2 years old. I recently gave it to my grandmother.   Cheesy

feedback is appreciated!   Smiley
