A set of twins distantly related to me had their first birthday about a week ago. I painted these wooden letters (from michaels) for them. E is for Elizabeth and H is for Harrison. I tried not to gender stereotype the colors, so I used purple and green. i painted them when i was feverish and sleepy, but i persisted!
so i bought this sweat shirt at a thrift store for one dollar, thinking i could do something with it. then i was looking at this bobby mcferrin website (i'm a fan... check my other posts) and they're selling this shirt that i loved, and i was like "i could make that... and do it better."
my second complete painting ever... the subject, bobby mcferrin, is an incredible and inspiring singer. look him up on youtube and watch some of his stuff. he's so cool.
he's incredible to watch, he just seems very relaxed and just... cool. i don't know any other word to describe it. with this painting, i wanted to capture his passion when he sings and his... coolness.
