I was asked by my best friend to make her wedding dress, and this morning I finished it. I'm so so happy with it (well y'know mostly! ), and just had to shout about it here.
It's the most nerve wracking thing I've ever made for someone, and I'm really nervous about her fiance's reaction, plus the other guests. Her sister is a very acomplished seamstress and trained fashion designer, but lives too far away to have been asked to make the dress, so i'm really nervous of her opinion.
Anyway here it is.





The pattern used was Vintage Vogue 2960

I've had this little cupboard for a few years, and for the last few of those it was stored in my dingy cellar. It was dark wood and a little boring. http://www.flickr.com/photos/56484492@N00/3433747611/

But a bit of TLC, a couple of coats of paint, a rub down with a wire brush and some pretty accessories, (draw liners and little hand sewn heart), it's now the perfect place to store everything ready for my next baby due in July.

I made another today, slightly modified this time to be fuller in the skirt. I'll post a pic, but I'm thinking maybe I'm just not young and trendy enough for this forum, is there an old fat preggo lady clothing forum? 

It's been a wee while since I posted any of my projects here on Craftster, but maternity leave is now underway and I'm celebrating by posting my latest make, and a link to a tute too.
I've made a few of these cotton maternity skirts, using my own pattern, some from scratch and some from charity shop skirts.

Loving the fit and style of the skirt I made yesterday http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=262243.0 I made another today from the same pattern.
This time I finished the pockets a little differently,and used some bargainous cotton from Ikea.





Just need to nip back to Hobbycraft tomorrow and see if I can find some more trim for the hem,I haven't got quite enough left over.

I haven't posted for a few weeks,and not for ages in this forum,but I finished this skirt today and wanted to share.
The fabric is my own design printed by Spoonflower,and the pattern I used is from a Japanese sewing book called "Retrospective Is Stylish".

I don't think I've ever posted in this section before.
The weather has been so horrible here lately,today was dark and miserable,I decided the cure was a touch of sewing and  a new handbag!



I used the an Ottobre freebie pattern I've used before,and some gorgeous printed linen,celery and vanilla coloured silk dupion,and a little brooch for sparkle.

Now where is that sunshine?

After the recon I did last week,I wanted to try another.
Ths started life as a drab lilac shirt,which I dyed so it looked like this.

Then after some cutting,fitting and stuff it looks like this.
