1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Turn a book into a giant lego block! on: June 06, 2011 07:09:38 AM
What a fantastic idea!! I might have to put that on my craft list. I'd like to make the inside into a jewelry compartment maybe line it with felt or fabric.

Great job!

can't wait to see how it comes out.

I was going to suggest making a purse out of them. I've used placemats and cloth napkins for purse making. They are usually very sturdy. Cheesy

Not sure if anyone else on here entered this contest. I was picked as one of the top 5 finalists. If you want to check out the videos that were picked and vote for one of us the links are below. If you've never been on the burda style site you should! They have awesome patterns up to purchase and some for free, plus they have a lot of tutorials for techniques.

Thank you all for reading.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tab Wallet. First pop at it, teehee on: April 19, 2008 03:28:43 PM
In '97 my friend and I had started making him 'armor' out of soda tabs...kinda like a chain maile top. We never finished it and I had moved away. We keep in touch often. He brought it up a few months back and it sparked an idea for a wallet. Something we could both use. Me, the practice of making a wallet and him a place to keep his cash and cards. I finished it a few days ago and mailed it out to him. It was the first time I had attempted a wallet in years. I love the lightweight feel to the metal. I might just make myself one!!

The photo quality is not super great but I hope it sparks some ideas.

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: First freezer paper stencil... on: April 12, 2008 08:50:38 PM
I kinda like the cracking to be honest... it looks more tree like.  Grin

Sometimes the fabric its self might cause cracking. I had it happen with more porous fabrics like ribbed tanks and long-john type fabrics. They usually take a little more pressure when printing.
