12  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Small-scale art on: October 11, 2009 07:40:15 PM
These are so cute! Cheesy They remind me of one of my favorite animators, Lotte Reiniger. She actually made the very first animated feature film, but people deny that because it was made from silhouettes and not drawings.

Here is her Cinderella short: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2S9uEz3lNA
13  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Star Wars, Dwight K. Schrute, Drop Dead Fred on: July 20, 2009 07:18:46 PM
Craftycathy - They're all one piece. Less work that way. Cheesy

Thanks everyone!

BTW, my Stars Wars guys made it into a group show called Stitch Wars. If you're really into Star Wars and crafting, you should go have yourself a look because there is some great stuff that makes my work look like poo.

Would you mind posting a picture of the back of Fred?
Hahaha, sorry, I know it's not a difficult concept, but for some reason I'm having a tough time grasping it.

Sorry, I was AFK for a few days. Smiley I'm actually kinda surprised that I had a picture of his back, but here it is:

OK, so the back piece is a piece of felt that I cut to look like the back of someone's head. I glue around the top and side edges first. As I glue, that felt piece wants to gather, so I cut a slit in the middle. Then, I glue one half down, and the other half on top of it. this way, it lays flat. Longer hairdos are a pain in the butt. Does that help?
