11  baby headband in Crochet: Completed Projects by danger.kitty on: May 25, 2010 04:00:09 PM

I made my baby girl this bow - it's a rectangle gathered in the middle and attached to a chainless foundation row of sc.  Wearing this should stop people asking "boy or girl?"

12  birthday cake for my carnivorous husband in Dessert by danger.kitty on: May 15, 2010 09:50:49 PM
my husband had his birthday on 20 April.  I asked him in advance what type of cake he wanted and he kept saying he wanted a meat cake (by which he actually meant a cake made of meat)...I decided an actual meat cake might not go over too well so I made this cake in the shape of a steak instead.  I used the red velvet cake recipe from smittenkitchen.com and frosted it with a cream cheese frosting - delicious!  At least one of the children attending the party were scared to try my raw steak cake Smiley

hmm...perhaps a short version of what I used to make Miracle Max's hair would work for you...

basically, unraveled my yarn to get the kinky texture, then cut into lengths.  I attached the hair by looping lengths around the stitches of the head.

Hey guys!  I feel a bit guilty as I recieved from MissMuffCake a few days ago and only now am getting around to uploading the photos.  Here is the awesome stuff I recieved:
A really awesome Sacred Heart mixed media shrine/plaque to hang on the wall

A cute Dia De Los Muertes angel

Some sugar skull pins

2 funky skull bracelets

She also sent me 2 great rosary bead strings (one green and one white) and a little Virgin Mary booklet, a loteria card of the moon and some Oregano and Cayenne pepper as extras.  I had a photo but can't get it to upload!

Thanks again MissMuffCake, this was a great swap and it was a pleasure to have you as my partner Smiley

And because I took photos of Sam's package before it left, I'll share some that I think show another angle than what Sam's photos showed.

The box from the side.  I loved the blue embossed paper I used on the sides and back.  Also, the red felt inside had flames painted on in gold but I didn't get a good photo of it.  Undecided

A low angle on our Cubee friends

And Miracle Max and Valerie!  I love them so much, hard to let them go.  This photo shows the colour of their "clothes" a bit better, a nice drab green...and it shows the awesome texture of Max's hair.

The other items are all as Sam pictured so I won't bore you with them again.

My package was sent out yesterday to Foxy Sam.  I took some pictures before it left and thought I'd do a teaser...

I hope it doesn't give too much away and that Sam likes everything.  At least a couple items in this swap were hard to let go of.

I got my package today!  It's very sweet.  I would have had it yesterday but our postie has the habit of dropping things off at the local depot and not leaving a card in our letter box to let us know.  I was just driving by and thought I'd stop in today otherwise it would have sat there another day.

I will update my post soon with photos so prepare to be impressed.

ETA - I'm back with photos Smiley

The decorated box, there was also a label saying Princess Bride Swap 2010 and another with a picture of Inigo with the "hello, my name is..." quote

A photo of all the loot

Westley gazing at Buttercup

Round fabric container with Inigo patch and some of my favorite quotes

Outside of the sewing notions organizer

Inside of the organizer with little ROUS pin cushion looking on

A book with blank pages, some of which feature choice PB quotes, a Westley eye mask with blue embroidered eyes (it's a bit creepy, I love it), a crocheted ROUS and a little whale ami keychain which she made as an extra to say thanks for me joining the swap late to be her partner.

And Buttercups pearl jewelery so I can feel like a princess.

Thanks a lot Sam!  And I hope everyone else can excuse my sideways pics...

Finally my photos from the package I received from SnazzyJazzy - I've been feeling less than 100% over the past few days so haven't gotten around to posting yet.  Sorry!  I really appreciate the package.

On to the pics:

very cute reusable bag - the fabric reminds me of Alice in Wonderland (perhaps because I'm brainstorming for the Alice swap Wink).  I may have to beef up the handles as I worry the ribbon, which is very pretty, may not hold up to anything heavy.
a customized "to do" list and "frugal foods" notebook - Jazz even started me off with a few recipes in the notebook
an awesomely cute retro-style sailor bib for my little dribbler.  I've been making more of an effort to put bibs on her so I don't have to change her wet shirts 5 times a day
and a spotty apron, because a girl can never have too many aprons!
