1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Naming products/styles on: June 06, 2013 12:17:32 PM
How do you name your products?  I sell bags and purses and I just started selling in a local shop. They want to be able to take custom orders for me.  Since i won't be the one there taking the order, it seems like it would be easier if each style of bag had a name. That way they wouldn't have to say they want a blue bag just like the red one, or whatever.  But I stink at being creative with naming things! Anybody have a naming method?

No problem! I think my pictures always look better outdoors! That's an easy way to do it and keep your stuff off the ground!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Describing interfacing to people who don't sew on: May 31, 2013 11:17:11 AM
How can I explain interfacing and fusible fleece to people who don't sew and have never heard of interfacing?  I think I can get the point across when emailing people but I would like to also be able to explain it in purse descriptions for etsy or whatever.  I think I get a little too wordy in my explanations.  I've looked at other etsy descriptions but they seem to just say that it is interfaced.  No explanation of what that means.

Forever!  I am super slow I guess.  I do feel that I am a little faster once I've made the bag before but I rarely make anything in 2-3 hours.

I do the same as Ruthie.

You can get a cute wooden hanger to hang the blankets over and hang it in a tree or something.  For onesies you could clothespin them to a clothesline or to the hanger and do the same thing there.

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to sew in a label ? on: September 14, 2012 06:44:50 PM
I make purses and bags as well.  I make my labels by printing my name and logo on T-shirt transfer paper and then ironing onto ribbon.  I just sew the ribbon into the lining of the bag.  Usually at the top of a pocket or just below the zipper on a zippered pocket.  I haven't added one to any wallets yet.
