1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Wedding projects on: June 25, 2009 10:46:46 AM
These are two of the things I made for my partner's sister's wedding.

The ring pillow:

Their initials are K and E (obviously) and the spoon at the bottom is a Welsh Lovespoon (because they are welsh).  The colours were the same as the bridsmaids dresses/the best man's waistcoat.

and the garter:

This was made out of a strip of material (not 100% sure was it was!) with the elastic inside and then the flowers were sewn on.

Sorry for the crappy photos - photography is not my forte!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Have you ever... on: May 08, 2009 05:23:09 AM
Heh I did try that and still couldn't get inspired by it....

Although I did just buy a knitting nancy today so I think ill try out the green stuf on that - maybe I can keep interested in it enough to make a rug or something.

Yep - I have this really nice Rowan Damask in a blue colour and I have not found anything to make with it yet.  I started a vest top which i had been eyeing up  and it looked rubbish, I started a scarf and it looked rubbish.  i'm think some lace or cable wrist/armwarmers but the wool is liek 50% linen so I dunno how well that would work or feel.

I also have a TONNE of this green cotton that I harvested from a jumper from the charity shop.  no matter what I try to knit with it it turns out awaful.  The only thing I have succesfully knit from it was...you may guess this already... wrist warmers!  Seriously how many pairs of wrist/armwarmer/gauntlets does a woman need!

Oh my word I think I love you!  I went on there and found the 2 most perfect prints -  now to decide!!!!

preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', 'Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou') hehe!

Hey does anyone have a pattern (prefereably free!) or clipart of a girl in a bonnet.  Sort of Jane austen, Regency style and standing in profile.  I've searched and searched and am coming up blank....

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Mr. Krabs in x-stitch on: September 15, 2008 12:59:20 AM
I'm loving this - Mr Krabs is the greatest!

Laurrenn - I think there's something about the geekiness of crafting that goes with the geekiness of Spongebob.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Sampler for a Golden Wedding Anniversary on: September 15, 2008 12:55:40 AM
Thank you very much for looking and saying nice things.  I haven't heard back from them yet (they live in another country and don't speak much english) but my dad assures me they willl love it.

I liked making it if nothing else - blackwork is always so pretty and clean!

Oh and sorry for the delay in posting back. Wink
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sampler for a Golden Wedding Anniversary on: September 04, 2008 05:05:38 AM
I had this pattern kicking around in my stash for years and I decided to finish it a couple of months ago.  That happened to coincide with a family member's Golden Wedding Anniversary so I thought it was quite fortuitous and framed it with (what I think is) a beautiful frame and sent it off.  I haven't heard anything from them yet so I'm hoping they like it hehehe.

I hope you guys like it too!
