21  Mad Wee Angus in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by aethelberga on: January 26, 2011 05:03:50 PM
In the recent Terry Pratchett swap, there were all sorts of Nac Mac Feegles, so I decided I had to have one too. Here he is, Mad Wee Angus.

I used a half size poppet pattern and part of a tartan kilt I have been keeping around since I was a girl (it used to be a Bay City Roller banner  Shocked ).

23  Never craft when you're hungry in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by aethelberga on: January 23, 2011 01:43:45 PM
I thought I would post my small contributions to the tiny polymer food banquet here on Craftster.

This may look like a cake, but it is a pork pie.  You pork pie fans will know where I'm coming from.

Second is a small (okay, large)slice of cherry cheesecake.

Lastly is the fried breakfast from hell, with bacon, eggs, black puddings & beans on toast.

Not the most healthy collection, I will admit, but tasty.

24  Top Gear Box in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by aethelberga on: January 20, 2011 05:43:59 PM
I made this box for the OTT Top Gear swap.

I'm pretty happy with it, even though it is fairly simple, just polymer clay on a dollar store box. The super high shine is from several coats of Future, baked right on

25  Re: Top Gear Top Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by aethelberga on: January 19, 2011 05:14:00 PM
I received today from banana_bomb, and I think I've go the first Stig-free swap package.

It is an homage to my TG fave, James May, and useful little purse, to boot.
Thanks banana_bomb

26  Re: Canadian Envelope Swap Winter Edition! Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by aethelberga on: December 21, 2010 06:57:57 PM
Here is the envelope I received from Arachnea.

The pic is a bit dark - sorry-, but I received some envelopes (she must have read my mind), magnets, tea and sequins.
Thanks Arachnea, I love everything.

27  Cubicle fireplace in Winter Holidays by aethelberga on: December 16, 2010 04:56:59 PM
We're having a cubicle decorating contest at work. My first thought was the stuffed & mounted Rudolph, but I decided to go whole hog and make the entire fireplace.

It's made out of scrap cardboard & paper mache. It was supposed to have a faux fire made of a CPU fan, LEDs and flapping fabric but that didn't quite work out in the time I had available to me. I do have a little tree decorated with tiny Starships Enterprise and, of course, Rudolph. the whole thing is about a metre high.

30  XST Discworld quote in Needlework: Completed Projects by aethelberga on: November 13, 2010 05:28:28 PM
I have just participated in my first hoopla swap & really enjoyed it. It gave me the idea of stitching some of my favourite quotes, lines from songs books etc to be displayed in hoops. Here's the first one (which is actually wrongly proportioned for a hoop, but such is life).

It's actually part of a longer quote from the Terry Pratchett book Maskerade, and the picture of Greebo is, I think, from Paul Kidby's Art of Discworld.  I still have some detail to finish It's now finished, & though I don't think I did his rakish smile justice (the link to the original is here: http://www.paulkidby.com/sepiacards/index.html) I'm pretty happy with it.
