1  New Englander's Egg Nog in Dessert by Delirious77 on: December 21, 2009 08:51:42 PM
As I left Dunkin Donuts with my iced coffee, my hair blowing wildly in the snow, I thought fondly of the egg nog that my mom was supposed to be buying. That was one drink they did not have at college. But alas, egg nog is really not THAT cold. Sure, it's about the same temperature as every other beverage in the fridge, but I want me a FROZEN drink. So then my dear friend Zack came over, and we pondered this predicament, and finally came up with....ready?... New Englander's Egg Nog!
It's a very simple recipe, and a billion people may have done it before, but we would like our moment. So here is the lovely little recipe

New Englander's Egg Nog (2 Servings)
Put roughly 6 scoops vanilla ice cream into a blender
Cover ice cream with egg nog to 3/4 point (Eye ball it. This is your smoothie. You OWN this smoothie!!!)
Toss in some pumpkin pie spice for good measure. Just a bit. Let's not get crazy.
Blend until you're satisfied
Pour into glasses and garnish with ground nutmeg if desired.

We proudly took pics of our drink for your viewing pleasure

2  One Jolly Dragonfly in CHALLENGE 41 ENTRIES by Delirious77 on: August 05, 2009 07:50:47 AM
When I first read about this challenge, I thought of making a mosaic from jolly ranchers. I had been to TJ Maxx earlier in the day, and saw some cute sea-inspired mosaics, and I thought it was super cool. I had never tried them before, but figured it would be worth a shot. So enough chit-chat, here is the outcome.

On the kitchen table!

On the dinning room table!

Here it is unfinished. I drew the image I wanted onto a piece of cardboard, then I would cover small areas at a time with white frosting, break up the jolly ranchers, and stick 'em on.

Oh, PS, the sprinkles coming from the bottom part is NOT dragonfly poop. It's happy draonfly magic sparkles.  Grin
