261  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / JOODITO more HIGH COLLARS ... and a hood. on: August 05, 2007 08:24:11 AM

hi guys!

i'm going to share 3 other completed works.   Cheesy

yup, i'm still considered a newbie here,
until my 10th successful post ...
meaning links only (no direct image posting YET).
i'm sorry for the inconvenience.     Undecided

o, i doooooooo  adore high collars.
all shapes and sizes.   Roll Eyes
(the hooded one is probably is my only non-high collar project, ever).

also! these are born from salvaged materials,
all chopped up into a million pieces.
still considered RECONSTRUCTED?
or would these fall into another category?

thanks for looking everyone.

ps.  i made my first fabric covered button last night.  i am addicted.

you are too kind.   Tongue

i studied psych in college,
having the need to choose a concentration
that was "within the college academics ".

post college,
i applied to parsons and was accepted.

but since i was responsible for
100% of my tuition/boarding/living expenses
(.... due to lack of financial aid after bachelors)
i opted out.

if i was to rewind time,
i would pursue design at the age of 18
... fresh out of  high school and free to explore.
(hint to those of you who are at this stage in life:
sorry for the cliche but   "follow your dreams" ).    Smiley

i don't have professional training in fashion,
no sewing classes, no home-ec
(i went to an aggressive college-prep high school).
my first time on the machine
.... my boyfriend demonstrated its basic functions
from what he remembers from school.

i would be happy to answer any questions
you may have on constructing these garments.
i'm sorry, i suck at tutes.

nice to meet you all.  Cheesy

267  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / JOODITO patchwork creatures . on: August 02, 2007 03:19:31 PM
hi everyone !

basically, i have yet to build
my own screen-printing system

... and the thought of cutting stencils
turns me off.

this is an alternative to screen-prints.
PATCHWORK  !   Cheesy

this was made during my obsession with silly creatures,
i thought a trail of  doo -pie would make them
the more amusing.

first, i drafted these creatures on paper,
then pinned the stencil to fabric and cut away.
spray adhesive  + more pins .... then off the to Singer.

thanks for looking .    Cheesy

(since i'm a newbie here,
these images can only be viewed via the links below.  i'm sorry).

268  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / JOODITO calling all HIGH COLLAR lovahs ! on: August 02, 2007 02:50:13 PM
hi everyone !  Smiley

just wanted to post some photos
of projects i recently completed.

these were made from salvaged materials
(mostly XXL tees, super long nightgowns,
scrappie  remnants...).

i envy those of you who are able to
produce such precise tutes !
i create by experimenting mostly...
and more than likely never able to replicate the process.  Huh
    it's quite pathetic.

please enjoy.  questions will be happily answered, of course.   Cheesy

(since i'm a newbie here,
images can only be viewed via links below,  i'm sorry).
