Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, action shots!!!!!

Beautiful bird sweatshirt side view:

Best bird sweatshirt ever bootylicious back view:

Birdie necklace that I absolutely adore:

I absolutely adore all of this stuffy, and am the most bird-decked out lady in town thanks to doxiemommy!

Here is a close-up of the back of the sweatshirt I made for her, where you can see the cherry blossom detailing and the dragonflies.

Another close-up where you can see the detailing on the sleeve:

Basically, I stalked the hell out of doxiemommy and found out she loved yellow, bright green, cherry blossoms, and dragonflies, so I combined all of those for her! I had so much fun with this swap!!!

12  Re: An Xmas Ornament in a Week Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by hangthedjay on: December 16, 2007 05:52:24 PM
So, after a strange series of trials and tribulations with my post office not wanting to deliver this package to me, despite having it for weeks, I finally marched my ass over there and demanded it from them!

I received this adorable little dragon from twisted beader:

Unfortunately, this little guy wasn't too happy about sharing a box with the other ornament she sent me, and he smashed it all to pieces! Sad

I received earlier this week from JennyBrown, in the midst of studying for a cognitive neuroscience exam and writing a gigantic paper about poetry and politics in Northern Ireland, and it pretty much brought me back from the edge of insanity.

She made me the absolute cutest thing in the entire universe - a tiny felt cactus in a tiny little pot! I am so in love, I cannot even describe it.

The label on its little package:

The cactus!

The cactus with my pet rattie, for scale. Because, y'know, ratties are a standard form of measurement for comparsion.

Thanks, JennyBrown! I'm in love with my OTT!

14  Re: Christmas Ornament Swap Thats Right Another One in The Swap Gallery by hangthedjay on: December 16, 2007 05:36:07 PM
So I received from irasema, and it was a positively amazing swap package! I was so excited to get it, and with good reason - the ornaments she made me are so fabulous.

First, two gorgeous matching felt birds that are so exactly up my alley, a beautiful braided birds nest with eggs, the cutest mushroom you have ever seen in your life, and finally, an adorable rattie complete with tiny scarf. She even got over her fear of rats so she could make me this ornament (I just got pet ratties this summer).

One bird and the nest:

The other bird and the mushroom (check out his little face!):

Adorable rattie ornament with precious googly eyes:

Whiskey, one of my darlings, checking out the new one:

Before running off with the scarf!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I loved this package beyond belief!

Here are some pics of the things I sent to zigg13pra - she couldn't take pictures because her digital camera is dead.

I forgot to take pictures of the scarf I knit before I wrapped it, but imagine it in all of its Ravenclaw glory beneath the paper!

Her favorite character is Viktor Krum...granted he doesn't show up too much in DH, but I made her a replica of the golden snitch he famously caught, with his initials on it.

This is the best Krum quote from DH! He's sending her the snitch because he's having trouble picking up the ladies...

I decoupaged a candle with the quote from the diadem, along with some eagle stickers. It's meant as sort of a Ravenclaw-esque metaphor, since the flame from the candle is like a crown of light.

Her second favorite character is Tonks, so I sent her some purple hair spray so she could transform into Tonks at will, and claim some of that metamorphagus power for herself!

These are all of the things wrapped up in Ravenclaw colors.

She was out of town when the package came way back when, so I was waiting to post pictures. I haven't heard from her since she got it, I hope she liked everything!
