31  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / M o'C Rockabilly Angel on: August 03, 2008 11:23:47 AM
I like how this came out- I kept the colours simple as she's going on a cushion.
The Mitch o'Connell designs rock my world  Smiley
Wish I had a figure like this!

p.s. The hair, wing, guitar and drum are in metallic brown thread which doesn't show in the pic's but is sweet and sparkly in real life!
32  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / eat yer heart out on: August 03, 2008 11:01:46 AM
Here's my entry- I love this phrase because it's so weird when you think about it but gets used a lot. The font is from http://www.needlework.com/xstitch1pats/html/old_english_alphabet.html and I borrowed the border from the subversive book. The anatomical heart and the skull and crossed cutlery are my own invention!
Hope you like it

33  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sailor girl- nautical but nice! on: July 09, 2008 03:29:35 PM
I had a bag that I got free with a magazine that has nautical stripes on it. I like it but it has an elizabeth hurley beachwear label on the front of it- not my style. My plan is to trim this embroidery down and edge it with some bias binding and use it as a patch to cover up the label. The artwork is by an awesome artist called Angelique see www.buzzworks.nl/files/products/SailorGirl.jpg for the original.

and a pic without flash that is a little dark but shows the stitches better

thanks for looking, soph x
34  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Lucifer on: July 09, 2008 03:22:53 PM
I found this picture in a craft source book and knew I had to stitch it- all those lovely curls! Unfortunately I have no clue what to do with the finished piece- I think he's a bit too scary for my wall!

thanks for looking, soph x
35  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / guitar tea towel on: June 22, 2008 02:12:52 PM
stitch it kit guitars + a truly awful pun = my new tea towel!!
I love these guitar patterns, I'm going to stitch the flying v one on something for my brother (but not a tea towel, I don't think he's a big tea towel user!)

as requested- a close up of the lettering;
36  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / swallow vest on: June 22, 2008 02:08:26 PM
I bought this plain vest and tarted it up with a swallow from the stitch it kit and some tattoo style lettering. It was tricky stitching on the stretchy ribbed fabric, I think I'll try stabiliser next time.

and a close up so you can inspect my wonky stitches!
37  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sailor Jerry mermaid on: June 19, 2008 12:43:25 PM
I've been really inspired by all the beautiful tattoo flash embroidery on here. I thought I'd have a go myself so here she is...

you may not be able to tell with my lame camera skills but she has a stripy tail and uses a lot of metallic thread- that stuff is hard to use!!

close up of tail

and on the back a little bitta sublime

Cheers for looking x
38  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / flight of the conchords! on: March 29, 2008 09:30:03 AM
I made this bag for the fotc swap here on craftster. Lot's of amazing fotc goodies in the swap gallery! Thought I would share this here as well though as it was a large project for me and I'm pretty pleased with it Smiley

39  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / hare with drum on: March 29, 2008 09:24:40 AM
He didn't take long- I stole the image from site that has lot's of copyright free images (I think it's called www.fromoldbooks.org) -he was called Hare with Tabor.
I think he's cute- not sure what I will do with him yet
40  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / bird embroidery on: February 04, 2008 04:55:42 PM
I just finished this recently, I like the bird but I'm not sure about the rest
