If you make covers with velcro, can you microwave with the cover on?  Or do I need to specify to take the cover off??
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: A dozen cotton shirts equals this. on: July 10, 2008 06:47:38 AM
This is so awesome.  I wish I would have been into quilting when my grandmother passed away.  What a great way to keep their memory near.

Yes, it was hand quilted. Smiley

Thanks so much everyone!!  I had alot of great advice from some great quilters.  I think I did the majority of the quilting, but I also had lots of help from some friends, which was probably the best part of the whole thing.  Nothing beats sitting around a quilt and engaging in some girl talk, at least in my opinion anyways. So I decided I wanted to make a quilt for my brother's wedding present, luckily I decided on that pretty early.  It took me quite a few months to finish, but I finished up the binding at 1am the day of the wedding. Smiley

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Binding Suggestions? on: May 14, 2008 11:59:18 AM
Hi everyone.
I'm working on this quilt and I would love some suggestions on which material to use for the binding.  I'm leaning towards the brown with white polka dots or the brown/blue material that is in the border.  The backing is chocolate brown.

That is so awesome! Smiley  Love his name too.  Makes me want to make my dogs a bed.  No cats here, my husband is horribly allergic, so I just have two wiener dogs to craft for. Smiley

What a great idea!  I have a ton of receiving blankets from when my son was born and was just wondering what I could do with them.  Thanks. Smiley

I made this a couple years ago, but I just had to share.  I was really happy with how it turned out.  All our WoW playing friends got a kick out of it. Smiley

Wow, amboo213, that is a great costume, and your daughter is adorable!

All these costumes are great!  Gives me lots of ideas for next year. Smiley
I love the little girl as a TMNT, we actually had a little girl come trick or treating as a turtle too.  I'm so glad some things from the 80s are coming back. (but some of it can just stay there too.) Smiley
