1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Four Elements Etched Stones on: November 14, 2013 07:13:21 AM
You could try rubbing a little black or brown ink or paint onto the etched part, and then rubbing off most of it to add some definition to the designs.  They are so well done, they should really shine!  (or the opposite, since they are etched *grins*)

I think that the silver beads look immensely better than a plain old chain would have.  Not that there's anything wrong with chains, per se, but this catches the eye much more.  Smiley

Really awesome execution of a great idea.  It's giving me ideas for things to make for my hubby for the holidays.  He doesn't wear vintage-y looking brooches, though. Sad  Thanks for the (potential) idea! Smiley

I would totally wear the spider ring.  And the moose poop is actually pretty in a weird way.  But yeah, like I Sew Cute says, one person's weird is another person's normal. Smiley

Mikodog, I like using interfacing, too! Smiley  I like the iron on kind, so I can gently iron on some pretty fabric on the back to cover my stitches.

Wow, that pendant IS supercool!  Wherever did you find such a thing?  The necklace is wonderful, the colors of the spiral rope are very steamy.

Gorgeous!  What did you use as a base?

Good job!  Smiley
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: how can I repurpose a single chandelier earring? on: August 20, 2013 04:38:24 PM
While it may be too small by itself, you can incorporate it into a larger pendant. Depending on your skills and how the chandelier looks, you can amp it up with wirework, crochet a delicate frame, or mount it to suede and bead around it.  You could also use it in a fabulous charm bracelet.  Hope this helps!

Those are fantastic - and give me a great idea for one of my dear friends, who happens to love all things associated with Dia de Los Muertos. Thanks for the inspiration!
