1  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Downtown Indy crafters and/or knitters? on: August 19, 2007 09:40:38 AM
Hi everyone!

I just moved to Indy, and am looking for other people to get my craft on with. Does anyone know of any groups that meet downtown, or would anyone be interested in starting something? I don't have a car, so a location relatively close to public transit would be fantastic.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Kureyon Felting Help on: October 01, 2006 06:43:59 AM
I did something similar - made a bag with portions of Kureyon and something else...the Kureyon takes muuuch longer to felt, and will probably always be less felted than the other yarn. I ended up trying out needle felting on the Kureyon parts, which helped, and was easier to control.

There are also little metal findings that you can fold around the ends of necklaces (the are maybe 1/2" or 3/4" long, with a loop where you attach your closure) - like what they use on leather cord ones. Have you investigated options at the local craft store? If you use them, just be sure to crimp them nice and tight with some pliers, maybe with a little glue on the inside.

This is fantastic! Did you see the episode of Antiques Roadshow where someone actually had one of the originals? It was amazing. I'd love to make one someday.
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cross-Stitch Patterns for Dirty Limericks on: May 31, 2006 07:32:02 PM
Well, head on over to Subversive Cross Stitch for inspiration - they even have a book out now.

At most craft stores that carry any cross stich supplies, they'll have books full of different alphabets, so you can spell out whatever you please! If you want to go on-the-cheap, there's always the library.

Hey guys, sorry about the link - just fixed it in the post.

Thanks for the compliments! It took me about three weeks to do working on and off - I messed up the eyelets A LOT while I was starting it.

I found this pattern a while back, and fell in love with it. I used Debbie Bliss cotton dk (which is great stuff, btw).

Alternatively, how about Snow White and the seven dwarves (though a few dwarves short, hahaha)? I don't mean any offense - this is just the way my brain works XD.
