21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Super cute monogrammed toiletries bag on: December 04, 2007 06:51:56 PM
I forget which tutorial (here on craftster) I based this bag off of, but its quite a popular tutorial. So here is my followup!

this bag is the perfect size across for tampons (although i didnt measure or anything.. it just magically turned out that way) .. so i can fit like.. two weeks worth inside LOL although.. i don't need that many. And this is so much less embarrassing than pulling an actual tampon out to take to the bathroom. For all they know (and think), i could be just taking my makeup!

the monogram is my initials (okay so its not a MONOgram, but you get the idea Cheesy )

maybe i'll add a strap someday when i'm not lazy =|
made from CANVASSS and lined with this roughish pink (i think its a knit, but i'm not completely sure)
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Teddy Bear Vneck Hoodie on: December 01, 2007 11:05:19 AM
This used to be like a XXL tshirt with a teddybear screenprinted across it. and now..

It was oodles of fun to make. the hemming on the Vneck part was kind of twisted because I had cut straight strips and then curved them, but it ended up being basically unnoticeable. Cheesy
23  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ice cream earrings (MY FIRST TRY) on: November 22, 2007 12:26:18 PM
One of the girls I've known for like.. five years was back from college yesterday!!! I was so excited for the occasion that I wanted to make her a pair of earrings.

So i thought.. What would bethany wear?

Ice Cream Earrings with Swarovski Crystal Accents! I am such a genius. =D

and a closeup on the crystals and hooks:

total time was about two hours (not including dry time for the glaze and paint)

i had so much fun making these! I am totally going to make a bajillion of these for people's christmas presents.. (she got a LOAD of compliments on them, i heard  Wink )
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / White Pleather with Hot Pink Velvet cutout clutch on: November 11, 2007 11:21:00 AM
Inspired by a Coach peekaboo/cutout purse my friend was carrying (except hers was a whole bunch of circles with cool colored coach print..)

Smiley this is the first bag i've EVER made. I hate the lining fabric, but its the only thing i had at the time.

and handstitching around the hearts was such a pain. (i was stitching through literally three layers of thick pleather and 1 layer of velvet.
25  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / monster doll with zip up pocket back on: November 11, 2007 11:17:38 AM

unfortunately, since the plushie is now in my boyfriend's possesion, I don't have a picture of the back (which has a zipper on it!!!)..but I will attempt to describe it.

tHe doll has a zipper running vertically, cutting his back into two symmetrical halves. If you open the zipper, you can reach your hand into the back of the monster. It is lined with blue tshirt fabric inside (the lining creates the pocket, and seperates the pocket from the stuffing).
When i gave it to him, i put a chapstick in the back pocket, cuz he always has chapped lips XP

made with remnants of old jeans (that i made into Capri shorts), and the remnants of an old blue tshirt.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pink Leopardlicious Hoodie with EARS on: August 19, 2007 08:19:35 PM
I made this sort of as a combination of all the different jacket tutorials i've seen..but I messed around a bit because none of the jackets in the tutorials were lined, and i wanted my jacket and hood both lined.. i didnt line the sleeves because i am horrible horrible with sleeves, and I didnt want to waste the fabric =)

Hood is lined with this really awesome and thick furry snow leopard print (looks like rug fabric, but its soft, slightly stretchy, and really warm.)
The pink checkered stripes fabric is flannel, and the inside lining is textured pink cotton(?)

closeup of the bottom!
I used a zipper taken off from a old Ralph Lauren Backpack (hence the.. uh.. logo on the zipper >< not sure if you can see it)
it goes ALL THE WAY around the hood cuz it was so long!! =D
it doesnt have the bottom thing most zippers have (yknow on the bottom of hoodies, the metal thing to insert into the zipper ><;Wink so I had to just put a band through it so the zipper wouldnt fall off =d =)

My hoodie has ears.. how about yours? XP I stuffed them with the fuzzy furthing you ususally stuff pillows with =d they're like a huge mass of fibers and really fun to work wit h!!! =D although in hindsight, stuffing them really tightly was probably not too great of an idea.. neither was not leaving a big seam allowance =d
AND LOOK AT THE ZIPPER i'm so proud of it!!
