1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Shakespearean birthday present! on: September 15, 2007 12:53:41 PM
I think I am going to do something for my mum with a Shakespearean quote or sonnet. I'm not sure if Shakespeare's the way to go, but she loves him, so I think I will. I just don't know which poem to use. And I've thought of embroidering a cushion or just framing the poem, but they both sound too boring. Do you have any ideas for what sonnet I could use and how I could make it really cool?
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Birthday Scrapbook for Mum and Dad (please reply soon!) on: September 26, 2006 12:09:38 PM
It's my mother's birthday tomorrow and it's my father's two days after, so I am making her a scrapbook. Trouble is, I can't decide what to do it on!
I've come up with:

- Birthday Book (like the Blue Day Book but with pics of us when we were little), but it seemed kinda inappropriate... 'So, you're getting OLD!'
- Favourite Things, with their favourite colours and animals, etc... but I wanted to use lots of baby photos and I can't here.
- A little poem? With pictures of us to illustrate... This is just an idea, I'm not really sure how to develop it.

Any ideas or improvements on my ideas are very welcome!! Thankyou.
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Mother's Day bracelet and pretty keyring thing (pretty image heavy) on: May 08, 2006 12:05:56 AM
I sorta made these both out of one necklace, but it's not "reconstructed" enough to put in the other board. So, anyway:

This is the original necklace that I wore once to a wedding and never again:

I then made a bracelet by first cutting out the flowers, then joining the chain bits, cutting off the extra bit and attaching some beads:

Stretched out:

I couldn't think of anything to do with the flowers, but the next day I got a cheap-looking keychain thing with a magazine. This is what I made from it, some extra beads and the flowers:

The leftover beads from the keyring:

Sorry, the pictures aren't very good quality.

And I wanted to ask: Do you think I should give the keychain to my mum too? Or is it a bit childish?

First of all, the name is meant to be silly.

These took me a lot of time - hope you like them!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Little Wooden Xmas Tree on: December 16, 2005 12:19:37 PM
I made this in Woodwork at school, so the tools/wood weren't my own, but I came up with the idea and made it myself, and I wanted to show it to everyone! It's made on a lathe.

I drilled a hole in the top and made a little star stuck on an aluminium tube to put in, and I also made Santa's sleigh in case my brother (who I'm giving this to) thinks a star is too girly. He can put either one in.

I hammered some pins in to hang decorations on.

Hope you like it!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Fear Factor party!!! on: June 08, 2005 02:56:17 AM
I'm not sure if anyone's already posted this, but I need ideas for challenges for a Fear Factor party (the TV show where they do all the crazy stunts and scary stuff). But they've got to be gentle, because the party's for seven and eight year olds! Any ideas?
