A couple more I've made recently. The red one was out of an old table runner. I love the colourful embroidery (that's my sis modelling). The green/crazy coloured one is out of a felted sweater and some lovely swirly retro-ey fabric I found at the Mennonite Clothes Closet, my favorite second hand store.
I've been on a purse fetish lately - just making them, not necessarily using them! I made these two to sell as part of a fundraising effort for an orphanage in South Africa where I volunteered a few years ago and am planning to return to next year. The pink one is made out of a vintage tea towel I found at Value Village and the fish girl I found on a random piece of fabric at another thrift store. Let me know what you think
This was going to be a gift for my sis for Christmas, but I think she would like a longer strap so she can wear it with a bulky coat (Canada gets cold this time of year) and so I'm going to have to try again. However, I like it lots anyway, so maybe I'll just keep it.
I love this one! I think it's probably my most professionally finished so far. The outside is a thrifted pillowcase, the inside remnants from the bridesmaid dress I wore to my sis' wedding 6 years ago. It closes with velcro.
