1  Flamingo-drives-a-taxi pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prairiegirl on: January 07, 2009 09:05:22 PM
I've been in love with zippered, lined pouches lately. This fabric makes me so happy (I actually made myself a top out of the same stuff). It's lined with the remnants of my sister's bridesmaid dress.

2  Oh how I love Value Village and MCC! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prairiegirl on: January 07, 2009 09:02:35 PM
A couple more I've made recently. The red one was out of an old table runner. I love the colourful embroidery (that's my sis modelling). The green/crazy coloured one is out of a felted sweater and some lovely swirly retro-ey fabric I found at the Mennonite Clothes Closet, my favorite second hand store.

3  Pretty Maids All in a Row and Fish Girl purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prairiegirl on: January 07, 2009 08:58:00 PM
I've been on a purse fetish lately - just making them, not necessarily using them!
I made these two to sell as part of a fundraising effort for an orphanage in South Africa where I volunteered a few years ago and am planning to return to next year. The pink one is made out of a vintage tea towel I found at Value Village and the fish girl I found on a random piece of fabric at another thrift store. Let me know what you think Smiley

4  calico and corduroy little purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by prairiegirl on: December 04, 2008 09:26:26 PM
This was going to be a gift for my sis for Christmas, but I think she would like a longer strap so she can wear it with a bulky coat (Canada gets cold this time of year) and so I'm going to have to try again. However, I like it lots anyway, so maybe I'll just keep it.

6  Old curtains + placemats = mom's favorite purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by prairiegirl on: December 04, 2008 09:11:34 PM
I made this for my mom out of placemats I found at a thrift store and some vintage fabric...I think it was also thrifted and I believe was originally curtains. She loves it and uses it all the time.

7  felted sweater purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prairiegirl on: November 30, 2008 09:26:41 PM
I'm been repurposing lots of stuff lately - this was a Gap sweater - I felted it and lined it with some matching cotton.

8  Panda and bamboo pillowcase purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prairiegirl on: September 07, 2008 02:46:45 PM
I love this one! I think it's probably my most professionally finished so far. The outside is a thrifted pillowcase, the inside remnants from the bridesmaid dress I wore to my sis' wedding 6 years ago. It closes with velcro.

Thanks for looking! Comments always welcome.

9  Business-on-the-outside, party-on-the-inside (or vice versa) reversible purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by prairiegirl on: August 31, 2008 10:45:05 PM
My friend Leah picked out the fabric, and I made it reversible! 2 purses in one! I also just started making little labels for my purses.

10  green print and brown fleece camera case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by prairiegirl on: August 23, 2008 10:49:09 AM
I needed a new camera case - i hate the ugly canvas ones you can buy. This is much cuter. No picture of camera in it - kinda hard to do Smiley
