1  New York / New York: Central / Re: Syracuse crafters on: February 07, 2008 07:35:01 PM
Hey!

I think the ASG here in Syracuse needs members so you might be able to get a membership for $20.  As far as "ability" they are really good at sewing -but I always learn something, and feel like I can try something new, AND I bring my "baby" project with me and they get excited and give me great advice.  So if you don't know what to do, it's a great resource -It's hands on, which is nice.  Plus it's worth the discount.  Meetings aren't that often, -once a month, not a big deal if you miss one.

When I opened the site tonight my eyes went straight to it and instantly thought "oh Hieronymus Bosch -this is gonna be good"...and it didn't disappoint.
           Nice work.

4  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: what do you wish people told you before you became a vegetarian/vegan on: January 28, 2008 04:26:31 PM
O so I have a new beef (pardon the pun.)  My family and friends total lack of understanding my choice to go Gluten free.  They've been BRUTTLE.
When I became Vegan it was Ok, but I just went to my first family dinner since becoming GF, and it was bad.  We(my SO and myself) brought our own food, and my mom made a big salad.  We sat down to eat and then the questions and jokes started.  Now mind you, every time I started to explain WHY I had decided to do this, in a logical informed manner(I don't do anything without research) I couldn't get a word in.  Same thing happened when I went out with Co Workers.

BUT the jokes on them because I've never felt better, I have NO stomach problems, I'm never hungry, and my diet is perfectly balanced.  Plus veggies are fun!

Thanks for letting me vent.        J
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Un Chien Andalou on: January 28, 2008 04:14:28 PM
Wait like an Un Chien Andalou themed swap/challenge.  I would TOTALLY be on board for something like that.
    Very good idea.

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Tea themed wall hangings! on: January 20, 2008 08:07:50 PM
I like these alot!  I don't think the frames need decorating.  I like the black vs. the vibrant paper.
Nice work.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Thrummed Mittens on: January 18, 2008 06:58:02 PM
So I'm not a knitting Gal -I have mucho respect for it, but can't master everything at once so it will come.

ANYWAY, what I'm reading from this post is that you want us to bug the crap out of you 'til you get this project done.  Lest you lose a cheap babysitter, 'cause he may need a matching sweater or ear/head warmer or hat AND you may need a babysitter.

Just my interpretation.

Get your project done Calgary!
