1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Batman Swap (Sign Ups- Aug 26th to Sept 7th, Sendouts by Oct. 7th) on: October 19, 2009 09:22:54 AM
I sent! Not too happy with my package, but I'm trying to stay positive, I put the effort in and hopefully my partner enjoys it! Smiley

Boy, am I behind the 8 ball!
I'll LOVE your package no matter what! And I'm totally the worst swap partner EVER as I haven't even sent yet, meaning I'm 10 days late!! I am at least 75% done though, so a day or two and I'll be posting to sunny NZ!

I have so many fun ideas, I can't wait to start creating! Haven't heard from my partner yet though, hopefully she springs to life soon so I know I'm on the right path!

It's been a while since I last did a swap and I'd forgotten how much of your thoughts they occupy! I'm so excited  Smiley
3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Help! Advice on Cooking Tofu on: September 11, 2009 06:51:01 AM
My favourite way to cook tofu, and what I think gives the best texture is to use a sandwich press (or like a George Foreman grilling machine!)...I know it seems kind of random if you're stir frying everything else, but for any meal that requires fried tofu it's the healthiest option too. You want firm/extra firm tofu in a stir fry/curry, I squeeze the tofu gently over the sink, then slice into 1cm slabs which I half/quarter into triangles, and grill on the sandwich press. The motion of squeezing the lid down seems to get rid of the exces moisture, there's no splatter, the texture rules, it's quicker than conventional frying, and you only need spray oil so it's low fat.

And that's the long winded description of what I find to be the best way to prepare tofu!
Hope this helps, even though you seem to have mastered the splatter Smiley

Wowzers, I really better get cracking!! All my thoughts and efforts lately have been focused on other stuff (going back to uni this week, my band recording our first EP)...so I'm sorry it's not early for my partner, but I'll definitely get it done on time!!

Can't wait to see what people receive!

Ha!  My husband would love you, skankin kiwi!!  He has one exactly like it!

My boyfriend has yoda on one foot, and darth on the other...! If I was allowed to, I'd post pictures. We also have an amazing piece of Star Wars inspired artwork, that is also tattoo-inspired, hanging over our TV. Once again, would post pics if I was allowed Sad Oh, and our cat's called Elvis Vader! Haha...

Either way, yay, Star Wars!! And Star Wars tattoos!
