what pattern is this??? i love it!

... and you get this. I had a leftover Kanga (a type of beach-wrap/piece of large fabric) from when I lived in Africa but it had torn. I loved the colors so I never threw it away. Well.. I got this solid wood coffee table at a thrift store for about $3 but never did anything with it until I went on a Mod Podge spree around my apartment (we've all done it. You know what I'm talking about...) I ended up cutting the shapes out of the Batik fabric because I wanted it to be symmetrical. I didn't finish it with anything because I wasn't sure if polyeurethane (sp?) would affect the color. So I just did about 3 coats of MP and it's pretty durable.

This really isn't called "Fake-Isle" but that's what I call it. I finished it in about7 hours and it's the third Tam from the new Knitty pattern (http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATTtam.html). It's Paton's 100% wool (solid color) and Debbie Mumm for Joann's (the variegated colors). the DM yarn is like fake Noro. not my favorite, but it was only $5 and these days I'm a tad broke ass.  

Oh, and it's supposed to be a tam but I don't really do the whole beret thing. So I just never blocked it and now it's another slouchy hat to add to my collection!








So the BR knockoff.. I actually had bought this yarn for ONE dollar/skein at some Michael's I was at and the very next day I saw this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=197572.0. I knitted it the next day and it went reallyyyy quick. I added a few rows because it was too short but other than that it was super easy. So thanks to metaphysical_muse!!

hey guys! thanks so much for all the kind words! The pattern can be found at www.nonipatterns.co m and it's called the Medallion Travel Bag from the Fall 2007 collection.

This was my sister's Christmas present and I'm SO relieved to be done with this. It wasn't hard, but pretty tedious. It's fair-isle, in the round, size 13 needles, patons 100% wool, felted (it was HUGE before I washed it.). That's about all the details. enjoy!!

I'm not entirely happy with the way it turned out.. It's not very flattering and I would have changed some of the shaping to make it more figure-friendly instead of being kinda box-y. It took about 2 months of off and on knitting. I could have finished it in 1 if I really would have worked constantly on it.

BUT.. this is officially my first sweater so I can't be all that upset with it.

I am sooo almost done!! I'm working on the collar now and it's looking superb, if I do say so myself. everything is already seamed and I'm halfway through the right collar. not sure if you noticed or not but there are little eyelets on the collar too. just a little something extra that I really love. If I get cracking today i should have it done today or early tomorrow.

now if only atlanta could be about 10 degrees colder...

today i finished one of the sleeves and sewed the sides together. sooo i'm getting there! i have a feeling the collar is going to take more time than I think... those size 5 needles kill me.
