1  Re: We Love our Blythes and Pullips Swap Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by maldania on: July 18, 2009 11:47:38 AM
Here's my stuff my partner quaisior sent me! Unfortunately, I've been waiting for both nice light and time to take better photos, but there's been a lack of both! This is the only picture that came out well enough to post, but I did manage to get everything in!

She did a very nice job, everything's just lovely! It was all very well made, and fits the personalities of my girls perfectly!

Here's a list of what she made:
-A very classy purple and flowery dress for my Nero
-A very bright and cheery dress for the Papin, with cute start necklace
-Black tee shirt and skirt for my cutie goth Zuora
-And adorable long sleeved shirt and jeans for my shy Stica!
-She also made two hats- one purple with a pompom and one black with a skull, very well made and wonderful!
-And possibly my favorites, two multi-colored scarfs! Just perfect, especially with the summer we've been having!
-Finally, an ingenuous little set of drawers made out of matchboxes! Just wonderful, and every drawer works! I'm planning on making at least one more to match, if not two or three!

I've had a great time with this swap, not only did I have a great partner who made great things, but it also forced me to try to make more stuff for my dolls which I've been wanting to do for awhile now! Hope everyone else had as good a time too!  Cheesy

And here's some thumbnails of each in case anyone wants more- I'm a proud Dolly Mommy, what can I say?!  Cheesy

3  Re: 13 Days of Halloween Swap 2008 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by maldania on: June 17, 2008 05:37:59 PM
HI GUYS! Sorry I'm late with this, I was trying to wait for nice photo weather, but it's been kinda dark and rainy! Also, because of waiting, things got sorta switched around, so I might have combined days a little bit!

Day 13: Halloween Advent Calendar! So awesome, made with a decoupaged metal sheet and metal tins with magnets!

Day 13: A bunch of great stuff! My mother liked the orange slice pumpkin so much she went out and bought some to make herself!

Day 13: Awesomely gross candy! So gross that it couldn't go without being posted!

Day 12: Elven individual and unique pins with a pin cushion! Too cute, and so tiny! I mean, I knew Kish did wonders with clay, but damn! Cheesy

And here's a picture of the items in the advent calender thus far (two candy charms and the pumpkin pie pin!) and a pair of great earrings from day ten!

Day 11: Yay for clay! 5 pairs of cute earrings, 2 charms and 3 eyeballs!

Day 10: Picture pendants, with my favorite movies and a tv show and fancy medical pictures!

Day 9: Soap making! I've really been wanting to get into this! It includes a felt soap kit (with help from spiderfelt.com!), some yummie smelling soap, two cute handmade Halloween soaps, 3 colors, 2 scent, a mold and some soap base! So cool!

Day 8: Decorations! The little lanterns are especially cute!

Day 7: Picture frames and an awesome picture holder!

Day 6: Three fancy ornaments (two decoupaged and one glitter) two tapered candles with 'blood' running down the side, a fancy glass candle plate, and a cute dish towel!

Day 5: Boo! hanger! Made out of foam core, fancy papers and ribbon! I never would have thought about using the foam core, but it's perfect! And here it is as modeled by my distracted boyfriend  Smiley

Day 4: A beat up teddy bear with creeply realistic exposed organs and bones! A fancy little ornament, 4 round coaster (?) and the fantastic wine glass! So cool!

Day 3: Three little painted boxes with clay tombstones with various saying on them!

Day 2: Five awesome ingredient jars! So cool, I think they might end up being a permanent household decoration!

Day 1: An adorable cemetery scene inside a glass fish bowl!

Plus here's a shot of the stuff in the advent calender, minus an adorable little boo pin with a ghost that I was wearing when I took the photo!  Cheesy

And a photo of my Jack Skellington cell phone charm in action! It's Nightmare Before Christmas, so I can use til then, right?  Wink

This swap was so much fun, hope you guys enjoyed your Halloweens!

4  Dr. Slump Decopodged Box in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by maldania on: April 21, 2008 04:47:31 PM
Hi guys!

So I made this for my boyfriend's 22nd birthday. It's just one of those plain paper boxes that you can get at craft stores with a bunch of random scenes from a Dr. Slump manga, it's one of his favorites. This was my first real go at decopodge, and it came out really well, if I say so myself! I just used watered down Elmer's Glue and some clear acrylic glass as well as blue paint for the inside. Hope you like it, it was a blast to make!  Cheesy

5  Re: FIREFLY / SERENITY SWAP ROUND 7 in The Swap Gallery by maldania on: March 17, 2008 02:58:35 PM
Hey lookie! I got my package! And it's full of really shiny stuff! Here's what Radegund was kind enough to send me:

A Firefly zipper pull and Jayne hat pin! So cute! My boyfriend nearly stole the pin, but I stopped him with my cunning  Wink

Two appropriately mismatched drinking glasses painted with the ivy on the walls of Serenity's galley, I always loved how nice and homey it looked!

Return address labels with related pictures! Awesome! I never in a million years would have thought of this, they're fantastic! I know quite a few people who'll be getting letters now, and maybe even the cable company!  Grin

And finally-

A Firefly pocket pillow for use while watching many hours of the show! I'm in awe of this, it's wonderful! And ssoo many pockets, I'll have to buy a few comics to fill them! Smiley Oh, and even the ties have meaning- pink for Kaylee's dress, red for the Reavers and purple for Alliance! Here are some detail pics, and some of the other side:

Serenity herself, complete with a golden engine and trail!

And a little Earth That Was hiding behind a pocket!

And here's the reverse, a reenactment of the Great Dinosaur Betrayal! They'll forever argue on my sofa now!

And lastly, the group shot:

Lovely! Thanks so much Radegund, Pretendpeterpan and everyone else! This has been so much fun, especially for a first swap!  Grin

6  Dollar Store Project in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by maldania on: February 07, 2008 07:42:23 PM
Hello!

Here are some pictures of a project I had to do in one of my art major intro class like two years ago. It was the final project, and we has to buy everything but the backing and adhesives from the local dollar store. I'm really proud about how this came out, even if I got one of my lowest grades in the class on it for some reason! The teacher then put everything on display, so the one good picture I have is from then, hence the flare.

I used foam board for the back, painted tissue paper, bits from a blue net laundry bag and some of those blue glass flat marble things for floral arrangements. It was supposed to look like water ripples, but the closest I got from a member in the class was pool titles! Ah well, it's still pretty!

7  Christmas Corn Heaters! in Completed Projects by maldania on: February 07, 2008 06:03:54 PM
Hello Craftsters!

So for Christmas this year I decided that I was going to make everyone something- Corn Heaters! I've always had them in the house, so I can't imagine not having them around, they're so handy! I found some instructions online, along with instructions on how to print on fabric with a computer printer, so everyone ended up getting a personalized image on their heaters! This sounded like a great idea at the time, but after I decided to also make two smaller hand warmers to match and then decided to make 20 different sets, and then decided to put it off until the week before Christmas, and then decided to make both my parents and my boyfriend and his mother more gifts to match it turned out to be quite the process! In the end everyone really liked them, so I guess that's what counts. Here's some pictures!

Where The Wild Things Are!

HtichHiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

Vintage Travel Posters!

And a star pattern I made myself in Photoshop!

They really were alot of fun to make, or at least they would be in smaller numbers! Hopefully the photos will work!
