2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Moda Dea and Yarn Bee yarns on: September 27, 2005 04:59:12 PM
Hi gals, I was browsing through Hobby Lobby today and OMG they have the BEST yarns I have seen in a while.  The new Moda Dea and Yarn Bee yarns are just delicious.  I really want to buy some but I don't really want to get something that doesn't crochet well (or takes 25 skeins to make a single poncho).  So does anyone have any pattern suggestions for any of these yarns?  I am newly pregnant and would really like to make myself a nice cozy poncho to wear this fall...So, any input?  Thanks so much!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Hip to Crochet...anyone have it? on: January 28, 2005 05:35:50 PM
The pattern called "On the Side Cardigan" is so dang awesome.  I really really want to make it however, the yarn they used is "Classic Elite Miracle" and it is way out of my price range.  So, does anyone have any substitution recommendations?  I SUCK at yarn substitutions.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I got my new books from Crafterschoice on: January 28, 2005 05:26:04 PM
I got the Easy Tunisian Crochet, Hip to Crochet, Under Cover, and Donna Kooler's Crocheted Afghans.  They are all REALLY awesome!  I LOVE Donna Kooler's book b/c all of the yarns are ones that I can get at WalMart or Hobby Lobby which is all I have here!!!!  The patterns are ADORABLE in all of them!  I LOVE MY NEW BOOKS!  Anyway, thought I would share.  Grin
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Piggy throw on: January 16, 2005 07:00:08 AM
Here is a piggy throw I made for my DD.  It is so dang cute!  I got the pattern out of a Leisure Arts book titled "Color Bright Creatures".  I used the exact colors that the book called for because my DD can't pick a pattern and know she can use ANY color.  She wants it JUST like the picture! LOL She is only 6 so she has time...as I am teaching her to knit and crochet too. Sorry the first picture is sideways.  The colors in the second picture are more true.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Have you seen all the new pattern books at Walmart? on: November 18, 2004 02:16:55 PM
They have about 10 new pattern books at my local WalMart for ponchos, scarves, and bags!  They are all so AWESOME but there is only about 5 patterns in each and they are $7!  I wanted several of them SOOOOO bad but I can't justify spending $7+ for the books! Sad  In one of them is this hooded cape.  It goes all the way to your ankles!  It is so freaking cool!

Just thought I would let you all know in case you have more money than me! LOL
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / New to knitting and have some questions regarding needles on: October 20, 2004 09:52:55 AM
Hello all!  I recently learned how to knit and I was wondering, how do you make huge afghans on those needles?  I know this is a lame question but seriously.  DO you just bunch it all up?  Is it easier to make on circular needles?

Also, Hobby Lobby has a 40% off knitting accessories sale this week.  Do you think it is worthwhile to buy a whole set of needles or should I buy a few or what?  If only a few, what sizes would you buy?  What are "common"?  I just picked up a pair of size 7 from the Salvation Army and I have a pair of size 13s.  I found a bunch of those "cable knit" needles at a thrift store for $0.25 a set.  Would you buy those?

Thanks in advance!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I NEED a crocheted sock monkey pattern on: September 13, 2004 07:03:01 PM
Does anyone know where a FREE crocheted sock monkey pattern is on the net??  It would be greatly appreciated. Smiley
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I crocheted a cute little headband on: August 24, 2004 05:59:32 AM

I just made it up using granny squares.  Another poster posted about a headband she made for her daughter.  I couldn't see the picture very well but I thought a headband would be cool so I created one. Smiley  Thanks for letting me share!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / More ponchos(can you take looking at more?) on: August 20, 2004 08:06:36 AM
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/Nyree1/ponchos004.jpg This one is made of the yarn called "Amore" OMG, it is SO soft.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/Nyree1/ponchos005.jpg This one is my 6 year old.  I reduced the "posh poncho" pattern and made one for her. Smiley
