Hi gals, I was browsing through Hobby Lobby today and OMG they have the BEST yarns I have seen in a while. The new Moda Dea and Yarn Bee yarns are just delicious. I really want to buy some but I don't really want to get something that doesn't crochet well (or takes 25 skeins to make a single poncho). So does anyone have any pattern suggestions for any of these yarns? I am newly pregnant and would really like to make myself a nice cozy poncho to wear this fall...So, any input? Thanks so much!
The pattern called "On the Side Cardigan" is so dang awesome. I really really want to make it however, the yarn they used is "Classic Elite Miracle" and it is way out of my price range. So, does anyone have any substitution recommendations? I SUCK at yarn substitutions.
I got the Easy Tunisian Crochet, Hip to Crochet, Under Cover, and Donna Kooler's Crocheted Afghans. They are all REALLY awesome! I LOVE Donna Kooler's book b/c all of the yarns are ones that I can get at WalMart or Hobby Lobby which is all I have here!!!! The patterns are ADORABLE in all of them! I LOVE MY NEW BOOKS! Anyway, thought I would share.
Here is a piggy throw I made for my DD. It is so dang cute! I got the pattern out of a Leisure Arts book titled "Color Bright Creatures". I used the exact colors that the book called for because my DD can't pick a pattern and know she can use ANY color. She wants it JUST like the picture! LOL She is only 6 so she has time...as I am teaching her to knit and crochet too. Sorry the first picture is sideways. The colors in the second picture are more true. ]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/Nyree1/7060fa0f.jpg
They have about 10 new pattern books at my local WalMart for ponchos, scarves, and bags! They are all so AWESOME but there is only about 5 patterns in each and they are $7! I wanted several of them SOOOOO bad but I can't justify spending $7+ for the books! In one of them is this hooded cape. It goes all the way to your ankles! It is so freaking cool!
Just thought I would let you all know in case you have more money than me! LOL
Hello all! I recently learned how to knit and I was wondering, how do you make huge afghans on those needles? I know this is a lame question but seriously. DO you just bunch it all up? Is it easier to make on circular needles?
Also, Hobby Lobby has a 40% off knitting accessories sale this week. Do you think it is worthwhile to buy a whole set of needles or should I buy a few or what? If only a few, what sizes would you buy? What are "common"? I just picked up a pair of size 7 from the Salvation Army and I have a pair of size 13s. I found a bunch of those "cable knit" needles at a thrift store for $0.25 a set. Would you buy those?
I just made it up using granny squares. Another poster posted about a headband she made for her daughter. I couldn't see the picture very well but I thought a headband would be cool so I created one. Thanks for letting me share!
