3  Re: Pimp my cube/office swap (Sign ups closed) (Send outs June 1st) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by diablita on: May 06, 2009 12:44:45 PM
Its been pretty quiet in here so I thought I would post some pics of my office. My office is pretty cool right now. The problem is that we are moving into a new building at the end of the month that is only going to be part of the way finished so it is going to be pretty boring looking for a few months. But atleast you can get an idea of what it will look like  Smiley

Here is my cube

This is where I eat lunch everyday

Tree sculpture in the lobby. It was made out of old table legs by the owner of the company

Mural that is across the way from my cube

4  Starburst Clock in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by diablita on: February 09, 2009 01:12:27 PM
So I really like these George Nelson clocks
http://www.lumens.com/lumens/product.asp?s_id=0&prod_name=Ball+Clock+by+George+Nelson&pf_id=PAAAIAMJOEHLKHCI&dept_id=4023

But there is no way that I would pay $300 for a clock, so I decided to make my own version of the Starburst clock. Not exactly like the original, but the best part about mine is that it costs me only about $20 to make and I was able to get all the supplies I needed to make it from my local craft store.

Thanks for looking  Smiley

5  Whats old is new in Needlework: Completed Projects by diablita on: January 16, 2009 01:49:51 PM
One of the cool things about moving is that you get to find stuff you forgot you had. I came across a box of vintage linens that I have had for about 10 years. I found this in the box with the embroidery transfer already in place. At the time that I bought it I didn't even know how to embroider. So now that I know how, I decided to finish what someone else started about 50 years ago.

The subject matter is pretty ridiculous but cute at the same time.
I am not sure if it is supposed to be towel  or table runner, but I am leaning towards a table runner because the edges have a decorative trim on them. If even one has any insight on that let me know.

6  Sweet Tooth Cocktail Napkins in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by diablita on: January 16, 2009 01:37:23 PM
This was a quick and easy project. I recently moved, and came across these vintage cocktail napkins in a box of stuff that I had completely forgotten about. I thought that the pastel colors would look good with some sweets stitched on them. All of the patterns are from the Sublime Stitching book.

7  Black Apple Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by diablita on: December 17, 2008 01:21:07 PM
Here is my version of the Black Apple Doll. I embroidered the face because I am not very skilled with paint. I used one of the Black Apple kits to make the doll because I couldn't resist the adorable Harlequin fabric.

Thanks for looking!

8  A Custom Shirt for a Custom Hearse in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by diablita on: December 17, 2008 01:15:28 PM
I made this shirt for my husband to match our 1970 Cadillac Hearse. I chose gray and black to match the interior of the car. The S&S logo was embroidered by hand. This was my first time embroidering on a piece of clothing and there are few things that I would do differently next time. The pattern I used is Kwik Sew 3484.

Close-up of embroidery

Here is a pic of the the logo that I used for reference. For those that are interested S&S is the coach maker.

My husband loves the shirt and it was a big hit at the Hearse Club meeting!

Thanks for looking  Smiley

9  Re: Vintage Halloween Swap Round 2 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by diablita on: October 08, 2008 04:02:13 PM
I received all of my goodies from irid3sc3nt. I actually got 3 seperate packages since everything wouldn't fit into one box. They all arrived on different days so it was so much fun to have a new package to open almost every day  Grin

First off, a handpainted clock that she based of a vintage Halloween image that I sent her.

A really cool charm bracelet. Sorry the pic is a little blurry. It is hard to tell from the photo but there are tiny little Halloween pics on the charms.

A cute little decopauged candy box. It did have candy, but I promptly devoured it.

Halloween also happens to be my wedding anniversary and irid3sc3nt made me something to commemorate the date! She was worried it would be too morbid, but it is totally right up my alley. My husband loves it too. At the top it says "Tied the Noose" and has our wedding date.

And I recieved this guy today. I totally was not expecting this amazing paper mache pupmkin. I love the grin on it. It is so maniacal.

Thank you irid3sc3nt. You are awesome. I love everything!!!!
