Wow! I haven't been on craftster since the end of October, and there's so much catching up to do! But I'm up to 33 projects so far this year, and 34 and 35 will be done as soon as I get my butt off here and start working! I don't know if I can do 50 by the end of the year, so I'll make 40 my new goal Wink I'm already further than I was last year, so I feel good about that too! I love having you guys around for inspiration, too!

I'll have pics when I get done with these two things today.

Happy Holidays, all!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I have a problem though ... how am I supposed to top this next year?  Grin

rlynn -- finally making something that happened to be eligible was the only reason I entered, too. I don't think I'll win either -- there are some really talented people on there! But a new sewing machine would be nice.... I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty proud of them, especially since they were both created over the weekend!

rlynn: I did enter them -- my first challenge entry ever!!!

Projects #27 and #28! I might not make it to 50, but I'll be close at least!
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / These are not the droids you are looking for... on: October 31, 2011 07:21:51 PM

I made these for my daughter and son this Halloween. I'm really proud of R2D2 -- he's made of cardboard, styrofoam and a whole lot of duct tape. My husband came up with the idea, and I found someone on the web who had made one (but no directions on how) and went from there.

C3PO is made from some terrible (but pretty) fabric that I'll never use again because it unravels so easily.

The accessories are spray-painted gold.

And here's C3PO giving R2D2 a kiss (and a side view of the stroller).

I made both of these over the weekend (actually finished C3PO about two hours before trick-or-treating!)

Hopefully I'll get better pictures soon, but I wanted to share:

It looks much healthier now then when I got it last weekend ($5 at the Boy Scout yard sale!) -- it was old, green and fuzzy.

Here's a hat I crocheted for my son during his latest adventure to the hospital. He had his aorta ballooned Wednesday, and should be in the clear for a while, at least.

Here's the full (but not much fuller) post.
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Ol' Blue Eyes on: October 09, 2011 07:28:31 PM

Here's a hat I crocheted Wednesday during my son Seamus' latest (and hopefully last) stint in the hospital. This last one was a quick stay just an overnighter after he had his aorta ballooned. But as you can tell, he's doing fine now!

This is based on this pattern from Lion Brand, but after I was about 75 percent done with the first one, I realized it was gonna be way too small, so I made it again and just measured it off Seamus' head. I also decided to remove the front flap because it just looked a little goofy. This is the second Lion Brand pattern I've made that's been too small is this a common problem?

It was a beautiful day at the park, too! Funny enough, it's actually 80-something degrees and he's wearing overalls shorts and short sleeves.
