3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / A little Christmas cheer! on: December 14, 2007 06:56:06 AM
I finally finished my DD Christmas dress.  I enlarged the criss cross dress pattern from a size 4t to a 6/7.  I think it turned out pretty good!  It took about a month to get the pattern right, and then when I was finally ready to cut the fabric I found out that the pattern was to large for 45" wide fabric.  So I had to go make it a two piece pattern.  Well, here is the finished product.  The pics are a little blurry cause my boys thoght since I was sitting on the floor I was free game! LOL!

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / New to stencil board and have a ? on: November 09, 2007 07:37:48 PM
Hi!  I am new to the stencil board but not the craftster website.  I was wondering if this picture could be turned into a stencil.  I have never made a stencil so that is why I am asking this question.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Enlarging a pattern on: November 08, 2007 07:26:38 AM
could anyone give me some advice on how to enlarge a pattern (without the help of a computer or printer)?  I have a pattern I just love but it is too small for my daughter.  I need to know how much to add as I go up a size.  For example the pattern goes to a 4t, how much do I add to make it a size 5 and so on.  I am sorry if this is confusing.
Thanks for any help.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Kimmono dress. Now with action shot! on: October 22, 2007 09:17:30 PM
I finally got to sew this dress for Sam.  I used burda 9769 size 7.  I think next time I will have to make a size 8 because this 7 is really snug.  My daughter is really skinny and this doesn't leave her any growin' room! LOL!  I don't have action shots because my dd is asleep, I'll try to get some in the morning!.

Back of dress.  My pattern almost matches. LOL!!

Action shot, although she never really moved! LOL!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / New outfit for fall with appliqued pants on: October 12, 2007 10:17:39 AM
This is the outfit I made for my dd.  I hand appliqued the patches on the pants.  Don't think I will be doing anymore hand applique!!  I am gonna learn how to do it on my machine!  My daughter loves the outfit but said she thinks she looks like a scarecrow!! LOL!!

I wanting to get an embroidery machine so I can add embroidered designs to the clothing that I make.  So I am asking those of you who have embroidery machines, what kind of thread do you use, and what kind you don't like.  Thanks for any and all input!!
