1  Medieval underdress/cotehardie sleeves help, please? in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by mindyyy on: July 30, 2013 03:27:16 PM
I'm in the process of making a cotehardie and an underdress for it, and can not for the life of me find a sleeve tutorial for the underdress that has photos. I can't say I'm the best with diagrams, and the blog posts I've been seeing with DIY medieval garments seem to skip photos of the sleeve pieces.

The cotehardie itself is going to have tie-on sleeves, but the underdress/chemise needs attached sleeves

Anyone have any resources?

No back shot on this, but it fits very well and was easy to make. I didn't really follow the directions perfectly, i used a .5" seam allowance to make channels for boning (i used plastic from joanns in the interest of time because I had to do this in one evening) and sewed the two pieces together in front to avoid having to set 20 more eyelets. Made double fold tape for the bottom hem.

Excuse the face.

I would add a ribbon going from shoulder to shoulder that goes around your neck.

5  First attempt at a moto-style jacket. Whatcha think? in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mindyyy on: April 15, 2008 08:11:19 AM
This took me forever to figure out but once I started, it was done within 12 hours, with breaks.
Thanks everyone who helped me out.

It's unlined, and I ditched the leopard collar because the jacket is more blue than black, so I'll have to dye it again.

6  supposed-to-be-moto-style-jacket help? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by mindyyy on: January 25, 2008 10:56:07 AM

I am hating the collar on this jacket I just made (unfinished, going to add a zipper and pockets and finish the cuffs on the sleeves), and the fit doesnt look too great form the picture. darts/bringing it in aren't too hard, though.

Any ideas on a better collar shape?

sorry about the gross bathroom mirror spiddle.
