31  Re: My Crocheted Purse with Belt Buckle Closure! in Crochet: Completed Projects by angelwing75 on: January 04, 2005 07:39:43 PM
Thanks, guys!  It's about 8" wide by 7" tall.  Here's a (not-so-clear and color-distorted) photo of it over my shoulder.  I tried it out tonight and my wallet, keys and cell and few trinkets all fit in it.  The belt buckle was my husband's suggestion.  Smiley

32  Re: how do you work with 'irregular' yarns? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by angelwing75 on: January 03, 2005 09:13:03 AM
Whenever I work with funky yarns, I use a second yarn in a closely matching color to make it easier to work stitches with, I always count each stitch to make sure I'm staying consistent, and I feel for the next stitch.  When I work with eyelash yarns, I usually run my fingers over the finished piece to fluff out the fuzzies and "hide" any of the second yarn that might be showing.  For example, here's a purse I made where I used Moda Dea Espree for the fluffly yarn and Caron Simply Soft in a matching pink as the second yarn.  When it was all done, I just fluffed it up with my hands.  I can't even see the second yarn.

33  Re: 1 Hour Baby Booties! in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by angelwing75 on: January 01, 2005 08:11:17 PM
I crocheted a strap on mine, too, but they're not as ADORABLE as daria's.  I think next time I might make a t-strap.  That would be so cute!  I wanted to make them pink, but I made them for my soon-to-be-born niece and her mom's not into pink.

34  Re: Purse/Handbag/Wallet Swap Pics in The Swap Gallery by angelwing75 on: December 22, 2004 03:24:51 PM
I confess, I am a cheater!  Ha ha!  This was my first swap, so I was very excited about it.  (And very nervous!  Undecided)

Anyway...here are the pics of the bag I sent to lilmissdogooder.  Since she's a 50s fan, the iron-ons are from the 1950s movie, "The Long Hot Summer" with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.  (The bigger one is the German - I think - version of the movie poster and the smaller one is Paul & Joanne.)  Sshhh - the polka dot ribbons cover up my HORRIBLE sewing!!

The blue one is a crocheted chenille scarf and hat set and the green is a crocheted Red Heart Foxy mini-scarf and purse set.

I loved your simple ribbon "wrapping" so much that I "packaged" all of my handmade gifts this way for Christmas.  Yay!  Thanks for the idea!  BTW...your scarf is adorable!

37  Re: mini-scarf crochet version =) with instructions in Crochet: Completed Projects by angelwing75 on: December 21, 2004 11:58:24 PM
Love them, blissedout!  They came out great!  I made another as a last-minute gift, this time fuzzy and monster-green.   Wink  It's longer than the other minis, but still not long enough to be tied around without looking dorky.  (I wanted to use up this yarn and didn't have enough to make a longer scarf.  Ha ha!)

40  Re: My mini-scarf with button. I shall start a trend. in Knitting: Completed Projects by angelwing75 on: December 05, 2004 04:58:52 PM
Cool idea.  I made one with fancy chenille yarn.  It's actually crocheted, but thanks for the great idea!! I daresay, you did start a trend after all!
