The patch really finishes the shirt, IMO.  I really like it, and I wouldn't do the other side with a stripe, as it is now it has a very 80s vibe which is very "in" as far as I can tell.

Great job!

I like the black and white one the best too.  I know I would have had problems lining it up correctly, you did a great job!

Oh that's clever!

As for blogs, I have one on wordpress, it's more customizable IMO.  I'm told a good starter blog (though I don't know) is blogspot and I like the ones I visit there too.  Good luck!

Oh I love it, I love raiding DH's closet!  Poor thing, after making my daughter's skirt I think he is being more careful with his clothes.

Good for your DH for losing that weight and the shirt definitely looks better on you.

(PS Next time you might want to post this on the reconstructed clothing forum, I'm not sure if it will get more views there or not but... maybe!)

Hope you don't mind me pasting your photo here, it's so cute I wanted everyone to see your adorable daughter.  (I'll take it off if you like though)

Was the flower a part of the original skirt?  I never would have guessed it was a skirt!  I love recons Cheesy  I am a beginner, teach myself as I go, sewer as well.  Do you have a blog?  I'd love to follow along with you Smiley

I am such a huge fan of reconstructed clothing (in fact, that's what most of mine is), this is gorgeous!  Fantastic job!
