it was awesome!
I made one...i need to take pics of it. I had to make mine bigger than the foam cones they had in the floral section so i made a paper mache cone...i put everything from army men to crayons, to (plastic)bugs to barbie shoes...lifesavers...bottlecaps....so awesome!

Thanks to princess_me  to the inspiration. Smiley

Anyone else trying to market towards that upcoming, often dreaded holiday?

I'm going to make some sweet nice v-day marble magnets and some anti-v day magnets, too
that's my project next week.

oh i've thought of making those, but i've seen another seller that sells them. Plus the marbles i use are kinda heavy and odd shaped. i think those work better with acrylic bubbles.
i may buy some of the bracelt forms and play around with them though. Smiley thanks for reminding me about those

I posted a little brooch thingie that i think i like...something different i guess. I'll let the felt pouches and that sit in there for a few days and see if i get any kind of interest in them.

i'm kinda wondering the same thing. there has to be some crafty tax wiz out there....

so i had my first non paying buyer....
it makes me so sad. and just a few days ago i was saying how happy i was that i hadn't had one yet...oh well. I'm reporting them tomorrow. they haven't answered any emails through etsy or their regular email.

in other news. i want to start adding a few more things beyond marble magnets...i added some little felt pouch thingies. i think they are cute and don't really clash to much with all the magnety goodness.
I just feel like my shop has lost a little momentum and it needs something new to freshen things up. any ideas?

congrats on your shop opening!

i have to agree with everyone else that the fortune cookie soaps are really cute...a furtune inside would be completely awesome. I made some soaps  for christmas presents that were clear, but had toys in them...like army men and little fishies and i even made some with realistic looking roaches! they were a huge hit. people love soap with a surprise inside. :-D

now if you use my brother in laws guest bathroom you get to wash your hands with roach soap haha

Does anyone find that posting items at different times of day makes any difference?

i definately notice a difference. i find that if you post noonish-1:30 you get the most views on your shop/ new item. unfortunately i usually post at 2 am when i can't sleep haha, but when i do post in th middle of theday i get many more hits.

Your marble magnets are popular, and with good reason! I love the names you give them like green tea ice cream and box o candy, yum...

thanks:) I think I'm usually hungry or thirsty when i'm posting things...haha

yeah, when i read that in the forum i thought the admin guy was a little rude about it, too. He should have said something like, "we hope you don't go. we really value you as a seller/buyer...how can we make you stay...?" something. It didn't seem like he really cared. I've been lucky so far(knock on wood) No non paying bidders and I've pretty much gotten everything i've traded for...although a couple things have taken a loong time. But if I did decide to close my shop and took the time to mention it in the forum so the admins know why...I'd want them to ask how they could improve things so that i may return or not leave at all.
I'ver notice while browsing through the forums that the admins were a little friendlier and more responsive on older posts. Maybe they are streatched a little thin with the rate etsy is growing...not to make excuses, but maybe they need more folks helping them.
