1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wetfelted nuno-scarve on: January 06, 2010 12:07:36 PM
Oh boy, what a work. But it was worth the effort, I think. First, i made a nuno felted scarves, white merino wool on ponge silk. So far, so good. But the result came out a bit boring and very massive. So I remembered this technique I saw in a book and tried it. I cut out the leaves from a paper pattern and then machinestitched it in a free style. The scarve looks very fragile, but it isn't, cause the silk and stiches hold the felt together. It's a really fun wear, I decided to keep it for myself!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / ikea fabric turned into a coat and more dots on: September 04, 2008 12:38:09 PM

Here are the latest projects I made for my 5 months old daughter. From vintage looking fabric I bought at Ikea I made a little coat (i like retro prints, but nice fabrics from the sixties and seventies are hard to get, and when u finally got your hands on them, machinewashing destroys them or the colors are fading - how do you cope with that?). I think they have wonderfull fabrics at Ikea's!

A leftover piece of fabrics with dots was enough for a little dress with an Miffy silhouette application. The girl keeps on growing, so I have to sew her a bunch of new clothes very fast!

3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Aarrgghh! My boy doesn't like this wetfelted dragon! on: August 22, 2008 11:22:08 AM
Hi!

I made this dragon for my 3 year old boy, wetfelting on a frame of pipe cleaners. The details (eyeballs, teeth, nails) are needlefelted. I like this dragon very much, although I made a mistake with the arms: I totally forgot that dragons have arms too! So I sew them on later on. But what do you think? My boy doesn't like this dragon at all. Sniff. He didn't like the bird I made earlier neither. Well, next time I'll make him a felted car? Or a pair of felted boots. Or a felted whatever.

4  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wet-felted telephone bag on: July 13, 2008 11:49:14 AM

A few weeks ago, i made this small bag, maybe suitable as a telephone bag, although there's enough room for my wallet and keys also.

I used glass marbles to make a 3 dimensional piece of fabric, cut the lumps open at the front and put red felted balls into the holes. After that, i attached beads and some embroidery and (hand)stitched the front on another piece of felt, so it became a bag. A small pushbutton keeps my wallet from being stolen.

I'm very pleased with the result (never used marbles during felting before, but it was very easy), and i'm so curious what you all think of it?
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Nuno felted scarve, necklace and other wet-felted stuff on: June 18, 2008 12:59:44 PM
I finally figured out how to post a picture, so here it comes:

This is a nuno-felted scarve with flowers i made last year.

This double flower necklace is decorated with lots of tiny beads.

A really big necklace. I'm thinking of making a special dress to wear under it, or should i follow up my moms idea and make a home decoration piece of it?

I made this little dress for my daughter (3 months old). The top of this linnen dress consist of a chiffon fabric with felt on it.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Mini-skirt with polkadots on: June 18, 2008 12:48:06 PM
I have to post this pictures of this tiny winy little mini-dress too. Please pay attention to the matching socks!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Retro mini-dress on: June 18, 2008 12:44:41 PM
Last year, I've collected many fabrics from the sixties en seventies. This is the first dress I've made from the fabrics. What do you think of it?

And this is how it suites my daughter Puck (3 months old)!
