11  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegan cooking rut on: September 25, 2007 06:13:49 AM
I know that this isn't a very positive thing to post but I've been vegan for years and God, I am so BORED with the food I cook.

I seem to just rehash the same old same old and its sooo boring. I need mega inspiration to add more quick and nutritious meals to my repertoire.

I make variations of the dinners in this list most often so if you can stay away from anything here that would be fantastic:

Coconut curry's (thai red and green)
Cauliflower and potatoe curry
Chickpea curry
Nutcutlets/ nutroast/vege burgers
Noodle broth
Stir fry
Braised tofu wraps
Sheppards pie
Vege mince and onion pie
Stuffed peppers
Stuffed butternut squash (with quinoa)
Vege chilli
Vegemince hash
Teriaki tofu stack
Red curry pasted potatoe wedges
Cold potatoe salad
Cous cous

Please someone, inspire me quick. It need to be a substantial meal and it needs to be quick/ easy to make. I want something thats going to make my taste buds really happy and just taste... different new and exciting.
12  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Bunny fur spinning on: September 14, 2007 09:26:51 AM
Although not an angora our rabbit is extremely soft and when she molts the fur you can pluck from her is incredible. She is having a heavy molt now and as I was brushing her today I was thinking what a waste it is to throw it away, its so fine and delicate but quite long 1 1/2 - 2"

I've read the "do you have a pet you spin from" thread and what I'm wondering is. Is it worth me collecting it? I don't spin myself but if I didn't want to use it maybe I could donate it to someone who would appreciate it.

She's Agouti pattern and her coat fibre is white at the base, grey (almost blue) in the middle, then gold with a black flecks on top. This picture shows the fur. Would it be suitable to spin? How much would I need for it to be worth doing? I have no idea...

13  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Finished my nuttsey dressing up Saloon girl/circus performer outfit. on: August 28, 2007 12:56:47 PM
I've finished! I can't believe its over. Cheesy I had massive fun making it, the fabric was a joy to work with but I can't pretend I'm not glad its done. I'm looking forward to getting my living room back!

The only pity is I haven't yet had a chance to wear it out, so don't have exciting pics of me pestering people in it yet. I'm going to wear knee high boots with it but left them off so you can see the stockings.

So ladies and gentelmen, without further a-do. I present to you laughing moon #105..

I can not WAIT to wear it. I've got lots of fun plans for it, I think a water or spud gun to wear in my garter would be good. Or at least a gun shaped lighter. I'm definately going to make the circle skirt from the pattern eventually and a corset in royal blue candyfloss pink to match.
14  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Buying a kiln on: August 23, 2007 03:59:27 AM
I've decided I would like to try my hand at glass and silver crafts.
I want to be able to fuse glass and understand I will need some sort of heat control.

I have very little knowledge and no experiance and am hoping to go the fool hardy way. Buy a kiln, read some books and learn from experiance. I studied blacksmithing at college which I think will be a massive help.

I was hoping some of you could give me some opinions about a kiln I've seen on ebay.

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Fitted striped top with modesty panel. on: August 16, 2007 01:14:43 PM
I like my casual clothes to be somewhat fitted. This was a top I made to use up some fabric I bought with nothing in mind for. The buttons are glass, I found them in an old button tin.

(Sorry about the underwear. I couldn't persuade photographer to take the pictures again Lips sealed It's a bit low cut, but I like it like that.) I've worn it a couple of times and still haven't hemmed it.

The back has darts at the center and neck for a more flattering line.

16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Striped taffeta corset on: August 14, 2007 11:06:50 AM
recently I've been making lots of corsets!

This was the first I ever made so even though its not really to my taste, its still a bit special. Its the Laughing Moon Silverado which I highly recommend. The fabric is lovely, but not showing up to well in the pictures.

I wish I had aligned the stripes to create a chevron pattern rather than having them vertical because I think that lost the quality of the fabric.

You can kind of see the decorative beading and flossing on the bustgores on this pic.
17  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 3 bunnies illustration on: August 14, 2007 09:48:25 AM
I hope its alright to stick these here, one can hardly call them fine art.

I love small collections of frames on walls. They aren't framed yet but here are some bun's.

Finished Paintings 5"X5" on watercolour paper.

18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Wiggle eyed felt donuts. on: August 14, 2007 09:39:07 AM
Alright, alright. So I know your all sick to your back teeth of seeing felted donuts but...

I've just moved house and I've always wanted a set of these for my kitchen. Also today I got my first camera which was just too exciting for me. I haven't had a camera since my early teens! After a couple of hours of fiddling I still haven't really figured out how to use it so sorry my pictures are a bit off colour.

The eyes are great but aren't really behaving. They look more shifty when they're hanging up. The chocolate one is just glue gun glue painted with brown acrylic.
19  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Want to be laughing moon saloon girl/ can can dancer/ carnival/ circus performer on: July 01, 2007 04:22:00 AM
Any one interested in going all out for a knock 'em dead dress up outfit?

I've been wanting to make Laughing moon pattern #105 for a while but haven't got round to it. If you've made this pattern and have any hints/ tips I'd love to hear them,

Every year I go to a ton of festivals over the summer which involves much drinking dressing up and carousing. I've just got back from Glastonbury, my friends all have hot dress up outfits and let me tell you theres only so many years a girl can be Frida Kahlo.

I'm going to make it exactly as it is on the pattern sleeve, same colours, but might make a corset as well. I've already ordered the pattern. Is anyone else interested in making this?

20  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / No silk painting board? on: January 22, 2007 07:52:54 AM
I want to incorperate silk painting into a clothing project and have lots of questions, but after a long search it seems we don't have a board!

Unless I've missed it? If I haven't I think its a good idea. This board could perhaps go under techniques.
