like this for example...supposed to be for beginnners, but im stuck on step 2

http://www.crochetcabana.com/tutorials/granny_square.htm

"Now yo, insert your hook in the center hole. (The hole will stretch as you go, though it may still be rather small, depending on what size hook you chose for the project.) Then work a double crochet around the foundation chain loop. (Note: If you want to, you can crochet over the loose strand dangling there. This is a good habit to get into for when you begin changing colors and will have a lot of ends to sew in.) "

I have no idea what that means...and it has pictures! How do I "work a double crochet around the foundation chain loop"? Cmon, forget Crocheting for Dummies, I need Crocheting for People with Down's Syndrome or something!

ok, so i learned to crochet when i was 10, and i just started picking it up again 10 years later. only problem is, i only know single and double crochet, and ive experiemented with a few other made up stitches, but thats it. and i absolutely positively cannot read written crochet directions. i know they are made for people who already know how to crochet, and when i try to find definitions of the terms, they dont make sense to someone who doesnt already know them! so, point is, i desperately want to learn more stitches, but i dont know how to...can anyone point me to a good resource?
158  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Bottle Caps / Snapple Caps / Etc. on: July 24, 2007 07:45:32 AM
ok, so i was thinking about taking one of those cheap $5 particle board tables from walmart and then buying a square piece of tin and nailing it to the table. then i would paint a checkerboard on it, and make bottle caps into little magnets by filling them with resin, plaster of paris, etc, and gluing a magnet strip to them, so they dont fall off the table.

also, i saw someone who made a beer pong table by covering it with bottle caps of all different colors, except the middle of the table they made an american flag with red, white and blue bottle caps. then the covered the entire table with acrylic stuff so it was smooth and schiny. it looked awesome. they had it for sale on craigslist for $160.
