41  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / My Armpits Are Killing Me! on: January 24, 2008 11:13:32 AM
So i was in rue21 and they had denim jackets for $5!  So I bought myself one and now I finally have a punk denim vest(yeah, took off the sleeves)

since i live in central Illinois, I'll probably more often than not be wearing ot over a thin black jacket.  i really didnt think much about this when I bought it, but now, my arm pits holes are too small for comfort.  any way I can open them up more in a stylish, punkish, and durable way?

Thanks in advance!

44  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Punk Jacket Gallery FINALLY WITH PICS! on: January 04, 2008 07:28:51 AM
I'm not quite sure this is the proper forum for a gallery of these, and if it's not , please e mail me for directions as to where to put it.
Rocker jackets, denim vests, kutten (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kutten)...anything of the like.

To the untrained person, a jacket or vest like this looks like a hodge podge assortment of junk worn by some hooligan punk, but to the punks who wear them, these jackets carry hours of work on them in each way.

Post pictures, ideas, and awesome stuff revolving around yours!  Show off those hours to your craftster friends!

45  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Punk Pants! Finally~! on: December 26, 2007 02:20:35 PM
So I asked my mom for old jeans to recon into some straight leg jeans for the Flatfoot show on the 30th.  Figuring she would say no, I was surprised when she gave me 5 pairs to work with.  This pair fit the best, but now are too tight and look bad when I'm sitting down.  Any help with that problem would be lovely.  All I did was take the inseam in a quarter inch, and the outside seam a half inch.  They're thick denim to hide all my thigh mass, which is good coz the plaid ones don't.  Also, these pics fattened me up when I rotated them, so if you put them on their side, you'll see how they really look.  Thanks for looking!

Look at the butt these give me!  Dang!

This is the dartage.  Had I taken in the waist band I wouldn't be able to fit into them.  It looks bad, but it hides under my shirt(High wasted was popular in the 90s supposedly...).  Still like I said, if you have any ideas to make the waist fit better, HELP!

Random thought, the waist goes right up to my belly button.  Like that matters.......

46  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wolf Silhouette Ring on: October 27, 2007 07:01:01 PM
I made this last night and finished it today.  It was made out of the aluminum piece in the back of a camper tail light...
I cut, sanded, recut, resanded, wet sanded, compounded, and then buffed.  The polishing brought out a lot of flaws, so it still needs work.  Also, my pics are really blurry.

Thanks a million!!!!!!
47  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Paper Mache Glue? on: October 19, 2007 10:36:48 AM
So I am a student with no wheels and no money....is there any way to make paper mache glue out of household materials?  And if not, what do I need to get?
48  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Jack Skellington Mask? on: October 18, 2007 07:55:50 AM
So my brother wants to be Jack for halloween.  We need to make a big crocheted sphere for the mask that can lace up the back.  Does anyonehave any help for making a big crocheted sphere the size of, lets say, a soccer ball?
49  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Converse Swap?!? on: August 25, 2007 09:40:58 AM
I think this would be amazing. You would need to know
Size
High top or low top
Shoe color
Theme ideas
3 or 4 colors to incorporate
I'd also reccomend to use real Converse, not the kind from Wal-Mart unless thats OK with your partner.  You can get Converse really cheap on eBay.

I'd LOVE to see someone organise this.  I would but I've never been in a swap.

PLEASE!?!?
50  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Little Vampires on: August 23, 2007 03:41:11 PM
Just small items so its cost and shipping friendly, but like vampire themed items.  I saw somwone who took those plastic fangs and turned them into barrettes.  Or like a wooden stake necklace?  I dunno...
