31  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I Think I Look Like Scenester Steve on: April 02, 2008 03:28:33 PM
So this is pretty much the same colors of the shirts that the first guy from Blues Clues wore.

My bro gave me this pretty neat shirt and said it didn't fit him well and I could have it.  I was thinking about making a hooded halter since I don't own any halters, but i decided this is more my style and i can turn this into a halter later if I please.  I took lots of instructional pictures if y'all want a tute.
Before( I was too lazy to rotate, sorry!)

This is me saying "want to see me work some magic?"

30 Minuites Later...

Thanks for looking!
32  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Men's Parka To Something Hot? Ideas Please! on: March 26, 2008 04:27:36 PM
So my dad gave me this size large mens winter parka.  I want to recon it into something totally fabulous and old school punk-influenced.
Its red and black and fits my dad who wears a mens size large, while I wear a size small mens tee (36-31-39).  I was thinking maybe a semi formal dress, but I dont know how to go about making the skirt aspect.

So if you know how to add a skirt to a tube top, OR you have another amazing idea, please hit me up!
33  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / One Pair Jean Skirt~!Oceanically Huge Pics on: March 11, 2008 02:41:08 PM
So I wanted to make myself a jean skirt because I had just bought myself some amazingly cute red and black herringbone leggings.  So I threw this together in a few hours.  The longest bit was the pleating.

34  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Denim Pleats? on: March 10, 2008 08:30:16 PM
So I was making a skirt from an old pair of jeans, and I decided to not do it teh conventional way, but to cut it short and then make a pleated kilt-esque ruffle with the legs.  So I'm ironing away at my pleats and I wonder.  Should I put a 1/8th inch hem on all of the folds so they keep their shape after washing?  That ironing won't hold forever!
35  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Mommy's Chemo Poppet! on: February 14, 2008 05:32:46 PM
So I made my mom a poppet to take with her to chemo...It's made from a very washed sweatshirt of her mothers(my grandmother).  The fabric was a knit, but not too stretchy.  The body is 75%, the tail i s100%, and the arms are 90%(they wouldn't turn in size 75%)  I just got the eyes from  sweets4ever today and i ran around the house doing this, "I got eyes" sing song(middle-eastern accent, mind you) dance.  I'm probably gonna put hair on her.  Eventually.  I really like it, personally.  Oh yeah!  This is my first poppet, too!  The pics dont show the color very well...its more like a mauve-pink color.

BELLY BUTTON!

Kinda reminds me of Mew from pokemon....or is it Mewtoo?

EDIT:  I've since been told it's Mew...and her eyes really aren't that uneven...its just my bad photography.
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Feltable? on: February 11, 2008 08:22:03 AM
Dumb question, ready?

Is "Wool of the Andes" from knitpicks feltable?  I dont want to invest money in a feltable wool to find out i cant felt it.
37  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting Needle Trade on: February 08, 2008 11:45:30 AM
So I don't quite know if this board is legal.  I hope it is, coz I like this idea.  If it's not, then by all means, dump it.

Sometimes, we come across a pattern that we HAVE to make ASAP.  But what if you are unable to find the needed needle size?

What if someone else had those needles?  I bet you'd love to borrow them.
What if you have the needles and are willing to lend or temporarily trade them?

Post your needed needles here, and maybe some wonderful Craftster has a pair with your name on it.
38  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Ellen Page (Juno) Toronto Premiere Shirt Help? on: February 02, 2008 02:14:32 PM
So I was looking at pics from the premiere of Juno in Toronto and I totally fell in love with the shirt that Ellen Page is wearing.  I was wondering if you guys new of a pattern that is similar or if some outstandingly generous person would be willing to draft one...

I think it's really a dress....but if I was to make one, I'd make it a top....I don't do dresses.
39  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / If You've Seen Juno, Please Help! on: February 02, 2008 05:57:43 AM
Does any one know what to do for a nerdy, gothy, punk, hardcore, poet, 17 year old, artist, world or warcraft addict, soon to be craftster?

Sunny D
A CD of me and my brother singing Anyone Else But You by The Moldy Peaches
Orange shoe laces
I dont know where to get the stuff for a yellow wristband.....
A slurpie punch card
I thought about a pregnancy test, but that wouldnt look right.....

Any other ideas guys? Please?Huh?
