1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vinyl Covered Lunch Bag (made for swap) on: July 25, 2010 09:43:41 AM
I had a spring loaded clam purse frame in my stash waiting for some motivation.  The August MOH swap (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=354623.0
) was what it needed.
I layered the lining with 2 layers of water resistant fabrics and the outside with vinyl over cotton.   I made the handle reminiscent of the Japanese clutch bags I've seen around.  The shape was reminded me of a bag my partner had on her wist called dumpling.

Details of swap:
Time to dig out those poor neglected projects that did not go as planned.  Send your lemons to someone else to fix and get back some lemonade!  (if you dont have a neglected botch, a long unfinished project will work as well)

I will try to match you up with someone who does the same kind of crafting, unless you answered you didnt care.   Also, let us know if you really want your botch FIXED or REVAMPED into something else completely.
PLEASE check in once a week or so as this is kind of a long swap.

Notice there are TWO SEND OUT DATES.  You must be able to get your lemons in the mail by July 15!  Please follow the same procedures you do with regular sendoutsget DC and insurance if needed.  Lemonades need to be send back by August 29.

You all wont necessarily be swapping back and forth with the same person.  Your lemon might go to one person, and you might get someone elses lemon besides theirs.  Clear as mud?
WHEN POSTING TO THE GALLERY YOU MUST SHOW BEFORES AND AFTERS, SO BE SURE TO TAKE PICS BEFORE YOU SEND OUT YOUR LEMONS!!!!
This is my first swap as an organizer, so suggestions are welcome.

ETA: Talk to the partner who is getting your lemon regarding how many you can send.  They may have the time to fix more than one, or perhaps use multiple lemons for one final lemonade!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?
Confirm that are at least 13 years old (yes/no)

What crafts can you do?
what is your lemon?

Do you want your lemon FIXED, REVAMPED, or DONt CARE?
Do you want your lemon to go to someone who does the same type craft (a knit botch to a knitter, does a very different craft (what could a doll maker create from my unraveling knit), or you like surprises and dont have a preference?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / daughter's Wild GERBIL diorama! on: March 04, 2008 09:41:28 AM
She's eight.  And yes, I know...very detailed oriented.  And resourceful.  It runs in the family!    Grin
the gerbs are just the arms cut straight from an old bear from a thrift store.  Straight pins for eyes.  She found some quilting thread in my stash for whiskers.  toothpicks for teeth.
I manned the glue gun, but thats about it!

so every year for the daddy daughter dance i let my DD design her own dress,  She is 8 this year.  And well, we kinda forgot about it until the last minute.  So She picked her favorite of her designs and off to Target to try and find something to reconstruct (it was 9pm the night before! ack)
I happened upon a shirt to use and a shirt for Daddy too!   They received a lot of complements!

Her design:
