Thanks everyone for looking and commenting!

The bag was easy to make, only took me a few hours in total. I had trouble sewing around the corners and closing up the handles at the top, but I just started sewing.  I think I could pull it off better next time.  :-)

I looked on the BHG site, but didn't see a link to this bag.  I think because it had a pattern attached.
Is it against the rules to scan the magazine pages and post a link?  ;-)

So happy to say, this is my first completed project post, and my second completed sewing project, period.

I saw this bag in the Better Homes and Gardens Creative Collection out now.  It's called a grab bag.  One handle is longer than the other, and you pull it through the short handle, and hold it by one handle.

Being my first post and all- I would love your feedback.  I have seen amazing things on this site, and it's very inspiring.  Having completed this, I think I will do a few things differently next time.  :-)

I've included a few pics, hopefully not too many.

Thanks!

Below- the bag itself.  I love the prints...

Below- same, more of the lining

Below- a shot of the inside & pocket...

Below- one of it sitting...

And lastly, my version of an action shot...

I think this is super cute!  I especially love the green background, and the oceany theme.  I think it would look great in either a boy or a girls room!  Good job!!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My almond green coat on: March 20, 2008 10:25:01 PM
That coat is beautiful.  I think the color and the length and the detail go together so well for a cute and classic look!

These are absolutely awesome!  Love them, nice job!
Now you need a striped pair!  If I were able to make a pair, after the first I don't think I could stop!  So many options!

this is great!  I have been wanting to make a similar bag.  Nothing I can find in the store is what I'm looking for.  Your bag here may prove to be just the inspiration I need to get started.  It's awesome, and I love the detailed stitching!  You did a great job!
