1  Re: 2012 Stash-Busting Resolution Dotees GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by IllusionsOfNormal on: February 03, 2012 03:37:13 PM
To moniquermasey & mamarose22:  I am SO excited that both of you liked my first attempts at dotee making!!!  I had such fun thinking about your resolutions and then letting the crafting inspirations flow...   Cheesy

And on to my lovely, calming, perfectly peaceful dotee from moniqueramsey to represent my resolution to ready my Bible daily.  She has found a home on my lamp where I sit to read at 4:45 in morning.

Love the colors & the charm.  Thank you moniqueramsey!!!

2  Re: Altered Puzzle Swap: Sendouts:(Aug 24/Sept 30) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by IllusionsOfNormal on: October 19, 2009 07:24:25 PM
Here are the pcs I sent to Katebug - I guess she forgot to post them.

The first was for her hummingbird theme - it's a quote from a poem by John Banister Tabb.
"A flash of harmless lightening
A mist of rainbow dyes
The burnished sun beams brightening
From flower to flower he flies"

The second was artist choice & one of the tiger's eyes is a tiny green jewel.

I received my last piece from malmow yesterday & I love the quote!

Here's a shot of all my swap pcs back home (my sister is doing the missing one.)  I still have lots of blanks, so I might need to do the next round.

Thanks everyone!  I've really enjoyed this swap.

OK - prepare to be blown away!  I was totally spoiled by TheSapphireMoon - every single item was fantastic and perfect for me.

My themes were:
1-lemons
2-shades of blue
3-butterflies
4-Garden Party
5-words of encouragement/inspiration

#1 - LEMONS, she sent me a wonderful beaded wallet & a lemon kitchen timer.

I LOVE the lemon wallet - it had to go straight into my purse to keep the DD6 from snitching it!

skipping #2 for now - it's my favorite and will close out the wonderfulness!!

#3 - BUTTERFLIES, I got a tote, a wallet, a cell charm, a necklace & some stickers.

The brown background butterfly fabric on this bag is just amazing - I couldn't love it more.  And the purple necklace is just the right length & goes great with my new purple work shirt.

#4 - GARDEN PARTY, she made me washable fabric placemats for my table.  They are reversible in great coordinating fabrics.  They look great on my kitchen table!

#5 - WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT/INSPIRATION, beautiful bookmarks (which are in hiding from the DD already), two frames & two keychains.

& now back to my most favorite of all:
#2 - SHADES OF BLUE: the most amazingly wonderful & comfortable apron top ever!

I don't take the best pictures, but this top is so amazing that it deserved an action shot.  I love how long it is & it is so professionally made - I couldn't have bought one and been as happy as I am with how this one turned out!

You have the best taste in fabrics, TheSapphireMoon.  I am so blown away by your generosity and skill.  Thank you for making this my best swap EVER!

I received from Katebug48 today.

This one looks way better in person.  It says "You can do anything you put your mind to".

Thanks so much for these pieces - they are a wonderful addition to my "Words of Inspiration/Encouragement" theme.

I received today from FicklePegasus!

They are very cute - my DD6 especially likes the pink one.  I'd better be watchful, or my puzzle may have a hole in it!

I received from Smmarrt today!  I love these pieces - butterflies & the color blue are two of my favorite things, so you really nailed me!  And a fabulous fortune and great quote to boot: "Imagination is more important than knowledge." -Albert Einstein.  Not just a great crafty quote, but one with real truth & meaning.  Where would the world be without the generations of scientists who dreamed up medicines and machines?

Thank you Smmarrt!  What a great start to my first altered puzzle.  Grin

10  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by IllusionsOfNormal on: August 26, 2009 04:44:57 PM
Meet Celeste - my very first poppet.

I made her as part of the Pick & Choose swap that's going on right now - she was for my partner's Celestial theme.  She just arrived at her new home, so I thought I would go ahead and post her in the Poppet-Along thread.  I don't know that I would use this fabric again - it looks ok, but it stretched so long that her face feels out of porportion to me.  Totally lost her nose before I could do the polyclay step, so I just painted on one.  Otherwise, I think she turned out pretty good.  I would definitly try this again, but would search harder for the right fabric.
