I took a candle torch and heated up water bottle plastic (clear-splash water nosel) and as a result, it turned into this glass like substance but it was still plastic. I did the center seperately and hot metled it to the side of the base.

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Two Posts in one. Photography and Cartoons. (img heavy) on: August 11, 2008 02:07:48 PM
I have been a photographer since I have started traveling...four years ago. I am hoping to do professional photography at some point in my life, but now I am just interested in documenting my travels.

I apologize that the site isn't pretty...yet. I haven't worked on that part of the site yet, but I figured it's easier to just post each directory.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Monsoon Dress Recreation? Help! on: June 23, 2008 04:56:41 PM
I have fallen in love with this dress
http://www.monsoon.co.uk/content/ebiz/monsoon/invt/25231841/25231841_F_m1.jpg at monsoon.co.uk, though they neither have my size or it is in stock, however, I am interested in recreating it.

Does anyone have any ideas? it seems like a simple pattern.
But what pattern do you recommend me using and how do I achieve the mirrory embroidery effect at the bottom?

Also can anyone find me a pattern for this type of jacket?

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Rose and Feather Charm Necklace on: September 12, 2007 06:18:34 PM
Here is a vintage rose and feather necklace I just finished seconds ago.
The pendant was given to me by my mum, the feather is of a blue jay bird that live near our Cape Cod house that we rent out every year and the rose I made out of Sculpty clay III.

Here is a close up

I hope you like it.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Shaping a men's leather jacket to fit a woman on: September 05, 2007 06:45:07 PM
I was wondering how would I go about shaping a men's leather jacket to fit a slightly curvy woman?
I would love to have a jacket of my own, and will probably search good will/salvation army for one....

Does anyone know how to shape one without destroying it?
Thanks a bunch.

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Contact Paper for Dorm Walls on: September 02, 2007 08:58:31 AM
Hey everyone.
I'm thinking ahead for my dorm room next year.
I thought to spice up my room a bit I thought of getting contact paper to put on the walls. But how sticky really is contact paper? Would it be a bitch to take it down?

I used it on cardboard boxes and it needed extra strength, but it could be worse on a cement/plaster wall?

And would a solid color work better for a small room instead of a pattern version?

(and I apologize if this is in the wrong topic I couldn't find any other one that would fit...)
