2  Two Posts in one. Photography and Cartoons. (img heavy) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by xoknb125 on: August 11, 2008 02:07:48 PM
I have been a photographer since I have started traveling...four years ago. I am hoping to do professional photography at some point in my life, but now I am just interested in documenting my travels.

I apologize that the site isn't pretty...yet. I haven't worked on that part of the site yet, but I figured it's easier to just post each directory.

That's just some of my photography!!!

Here are my cartoons.

I hope you enjoy these!!

5  Vintage Rose and Feather Charm Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by xoknb125 on: September 12, 2007 06:18:34 PM
Here is a vintage rose and feather necklace I just finished seconds ago.
The pendant was given to me by my mum, the feather is of a blue jay bird that live near our Cape Cod house that we rent out every year and the rose I made out of Sculpty clay III.

Here is a close up

I hope you like it.

7  Elegant Pearl Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by xoknb125 on: August 16, 2007 09:04:22 AM
Hey all;
This is my first craft post so bare with me!
I made this awhile ago but it's one of my favorite pieces I did so far!
I stole this design out of a book I saw at Michaels or A.C Moore (can't remember which since I spend a lot of time at both places).
I had made an earring and bracelet set for this necklace but unfortunately they both died =(

(sorry if that's big)

Action shot, wore this necklace to Senior Portraits! I loved how it turned out on black.
(The rose pearls and pearls didn't really come out that well =/)

It's just your standard necklace strung on tigertail with your good ol' silver lobsterclaw. I used curved filigree bead caps, rose pearls and pearl.

In the book it said "Silver Pearl" and I said to myself; WTH IS A SILVER PEARL?

So I just used silver spacers and it seemed to work out just fine!
I hope you like. Smiley

8  Dying Fabric in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by xoknb125 on: August 10, 2007 08:58:33 PM
I hope this is in the right spot, if it isn't, I'm sorry, this is my first time posting a question like this...anyway.

My question is: What fabric would be good to hand dye?

I've been inspired by Katie Leung's Dress:

From the London PhotoCall.

I have made a sketch of my own interpretation of the dress, and I would like to know what type of fabric would be good to get that tie-die ish effect?

I know the actual effect isn't tie die, its floral, but I think it would be cool to tie die it to get that effect.

Am I confusing anyone? So, can you help me out? Thanks.
And I apologize if I did not post this in the right catorgory.
