21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Homemade Dishwasher Detergent Powder *With Tute* on: July 08, 2010 04:51:11 PM
Hi, SpicyTaco!
I had a hard time finding washing soda, finally found Super Washing Soda by Arm & Hammer at a Fred Meyer grocery store here in Oregon (FM stores are mostly in the Pacific Northwest).  Looked at your profile here and see that you're in Canada...  Don't have any suggestions...
Just in case they call it something different in Canada, Wikipedia describes it thus:  "Sodium carbonate (also known as washing soda, soda crystals or soda ash or "Soda Carbonate"), Na2CO3, is a sodium salt of carbonic acid."
Hope this helps.

DesignVigilante, that's exactly what I did - 2 parts this, 1 part that, on the recipe card. "Great minds think alike" I may send one of the cards to my daughter...  Thanks again!

Just called my local health food store and they carry the citric acid in the spice/herb section for $6.39 per pound.  Now just gotta mix me up a batch - perfect timing for your recipe as we just ran out of our name-brand soap and have it on our shopping list!  Thank you!
PS using this cute recipe card maker to, ah, make a recipe card to tape to my container and also to put a copy in my recipe box for future reference:

Your quilt is beautiful.  I love the fabrics, the pattern you chose, the quilting is very nice, the backing fabric... Oh, I just love it!

Your dress is lovely!  Love your fabric choice - feminine but not too girly.  You look wonderful in it!

The hat you posted is pretty great, though!  I wanted to make a white hat, but I didn't have enough darn to make it nice, you know?

I do understand - I had to BUY NEW underpants to make these.  By the time hubby is ready to part with his old underpants, there's nothing left but the waistbands.

But, hey, maybe those could be sewn together to make something...  Hmmm... Maybe some installation art - maybe to wrap a tree...  Picture it - a tree blanketed in waistband elastics.  Brilliant!  No - better - an OUTHOUSE blanketed with waistband elastics!  Ooo!  Pretty!

I am humbled at your creativity - you have me beat in spades - I thought I was creative when I made this for our motorcycle club "Chapter Director" (CD) a couple years ago - it didn't photograph well - it says "Head CD"

I made one for the Assistant Chapter Director (Ass. CD) but couldn't get him to pose for a photo - don't know why....

Love it!  So creative!  One quick question - where do you buy the different length toilet paper rolls?  I checked my local markets and they all seem to be approximately the same length.  Thanks in advance.
