*** wanders in with a boombox playing Bon Jovi songs ***

ok, so Friday came and went, and an entire extra week, but here is a report of what we've been up to in this round of the games.

Almost halfway through this round, and we have 21 active players (and I'm sure a few more who are lurking about). The number of projects submitted so far is 128, with some very impresive individual project counts from some players. For example, rockingbearranch of team Wordy, who has completed 15 projects, and Ludi and bunny1kenobi with 12 projects each.

As you already know, Good won the September Battle (and even the Evil projects were good, in a way). Almost everyone submitted a vote in this battle - 18 projects - 10 for Good and 8 for Evil.

The monthly battle is also the most crafted prompt at the moment (looks like this honor usually goes to the time specific prompts of the first month in each round), but the other prompts still have time to catch up. The Greek gods are a close second, with 14 projects, and since that trio's domain covers most of everything in creation, I'm sure we're going to see more projects submitted for it.

People have jumped in and are using the new types of prompts to their full potential. 9 Zaps have been crafted so far, 7 Free Range projects, and 5 Big Time projects.

That's it for today, keep rocking, everyone!

Hey everyone, I got the tracking machine all updated and crunching this round's info. There were a few glitches (gozer's name sneaked into the list twice, for example), but now things are updated. I'll do a report to sum September, either tomorrow or on Friday.
If any team captain, or anyone else, wants a link to the tracking sheet, just let me know.

Hi everyone, only a week into the fall games and I finally finished feeding the tracking machine with all the summer info. The poor thing was overheating and could only crunch so much data every day. Don't worry, I gave it plenty of ice and just today we felt a cooler breeze (a tiny one, but it was there).

As always, we've had an active round. You don't even realize how active it is, until you try to take it all in in a few days at the end of the round.

We have had 21 active players, posting a total of 433 projects (last round we had 326). All the prompts got some attention and all the teams were represented.

June took us to the circus, where we got to see some awesome shows. Each of the June prompts got 15 projects, except for the Ring Master, who only got 14 (I guess he was busy keeping everything else in order).
June's battle had us choose between creepy and cute, with 19 projects, it is the most popular prompt this round. I guess we really are a nice bunch of people, as cute won this battle with 14 projects.

July took us to outer space (which is a big favorite of mine, sorry I was so "spaced out" myself during that time). So we got stars, nebulas and other out of this world goodies. The battle this time was between Robots and Aliens, and the Aliens totally abducted the prize with 9 projects, and only 3 projects for the Robot fans.

August took us back to basics, colors and some of their symbolism. The battle was between Monochrome and Rainbow and it was almost a tie. Monochrome won by a single project with 6 vs. the 5 that Rainbow got. An interesting thing here is the way the project submissions for this prompt appeared. First, the 6 Monochrome projects were submitted and the Rainbow projects were all submitted later in the month.

As mentioned, the most projects any single prompt got is 19 and that honor goes to the June Battle.

Leading the way this round, with 37 projects each, are rockingbearranch for Team Wordy and LovelyMiss for Team Randomizer. Right on their tracks is storerboughtcreations of Team Multimedia, with 35 projects and Smeddley of Team Textbook with 34 projects.

The totals for the teams at the end of the round:
TeamPointsPlayersProjects
Wordy:33906151
Multimedia:1875583
Textbook:1655256

If anyone is wondering about their own points, prompts they completed or any other random statistics, just let me know and I'll bribe the machine for info Smiley

Hi everyone, sorry for disappearing. Went on a lovely vacation in France and came back home to one of the longest, most draining heat waves I can remember. Spent half the summer walking around like a zombie. Managed to revive myself (thanks to my mom who is always a great help), and now i have over 20 pages of the games' thread to go over. I'll update the tracking sheet and have a nice report to wrap up this round for all of us. I hope your summer was a bit more productive than mine Smiley

I left the forums for a few days and now have a big job of catching up. Wanted to post this project real quick, to catch the end of the month. Then, I'll go and read back through the thread and update the tracking machine.

Prompt: June Battle Royale - Cute
Team: Fandom
Event: Yarnology
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: blue hearts anklet
Project Link:
Brief Description:
This is the only thing I completed this month that isn't food. I made another ankle bracelet, in the same pattern as the one I made last month. Unlike traditional friendship bracelets, I put clasps on my bracelets because I like to be able to switch them, but I haven't taken off the last one I made for a while now.
I chose this project to go with Cute, as the heart symbol is cute and ankle bracelets are cute, but also because ankle bracelets always remind me of the Snorkmaiden from the Moomins. I read the books as a kid and was enchanted by the anklet she wears. I think it's the first time I was aware of this type of jewelry.
Project Picture (shown on my wrist, because taking an in-focus picture of my ankle with my phone is a bit tricky):

Thanks bunny, I was thinking about adding goggles and a Hawaiian shirt, but thought that might be a bit over the top Smiley

*** Walks in wearing flipflops and a duck float (plus summer clothing, of course, this is a kid friendly thread) ***
Hi everyone, Summer is here! This means longer days (go convince the kid to go to sleep when it's not "night" yet), the pool, the beach, watermelons, grapes and peaches, and ice cream. It also means the Spring round of the games is over and a new round has begun.

Lets take a look at what we had in the Spring round.

We have had 23 active players, posting a total of 326 projects. All the prompts got some attention and the board has been flooded with pictures (no complaints, we love pictures).

May had as zooming about, using different kinds of vehicles, and all of the prompts for this month got a similar amount of attention, ranging from 11 to 14 projects each.
May's 3-way battle didn't get as much attention as previous battles, with a total of 11 projects, with the smallest contestant, Automobiles, winning the battle with 5 submissions, while Trains got 4 and Planes got 2. But no matter how you travel, as long as you keep safe and make it to your destination more or less on time and in good shape.

The most projects any single prompt got is 19 and 3 different prompts made it to that number: March's 40's Homemaker, 60's Flower Child and April's Union Jack.

We've had 7 Adventurers, who ventured out of the games thread and actually posted elsewhere in the Craftster world, on boards that are new or infrequent to them. Hurray for the brave adventurers: roler, storeboghtcreations, gozer, Mountains and Clouds, artsycandice, calabaza and LovelyMiss.

Leading the way this round, with 24 projects each, are Lody and gozer for Team Wordy, who went by the famous Craftser mantra Craft All The Things!!! and a bit beyond that, Ludi with an extra Research project and gozer with a Bounty entry. Also Crafting All The Things is rockingbearranch of Team Wordy, with 23 projects.
It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway), that we are all winners in this game. For creating and sharing, and enjoying each other's creativity, no matter how many or how few projects life let us complete this round.

The totals for the teams at the end of the round (the totals include the bounties):

Looking forward to a great summer (or winter if you are on the other side of this globe).

Tanath - Oh my gosh, that sounds like such a fun and educational way to cook with your daughter!  And I'd do a happy dance too, seeing her use her newfound knowledge like that!  And wow, what cool friendship bracelets!  I totally did the safety-pin-on-the-jeans thing, but never made anything more complicated than diagonal stripes!

Thanks, roler. The hearts is a pretty simple variation. For most bracelets it's just a question of which string to knot over the other, and once you get the pattern it's pretty mindless.

End of Month! End of Round! It keeps happening and it's surprising every time Smiley
Managed just a few more this round (way less than the ideas in my head).

Prompt: Tea time
Team: Fandom
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Yogurt Cake
Project Link:
Brief Description:
My daughter is learning letters, so we're doing Letter of the Week. We take one letter every week and do stuff that is related to words that begin with that letter. I only get to spend some of my afternoons with her, so we're not doing as many fun activities as I would like, but when the letter corresponds with the word cake (in Hebrew), we have to bake a cake. I had in my bookmarks a super easy recipe, which uses the yogurt cup as the measure. I translated the ingredient list into pictures and let her do most of the "reading" and mixing (a small happy dance and some squealing might have occurred when she couldn't figure out one ingredient by the picture and figured it out when she looked closer at the letters, you're guess as to who did the dancing).
We put the mixture into a bunch of mini cake pans we happened to buy a few days before and they turned out yummy.
(in the thumbnail you can see the letter "board" I did for that week)

Just a cute hearts design ankle bracelet for the summer.

Prompt:  Union Jack

Project Name: Tiny bracelet
Project Link:
Brief Description:
Friendship bracelets was my main craft as a teenager. I could often be seen with a safety pin with a bunch of strings attached to my jeans. It's my fallback when I'm feeling crafty but don't know what to do. I've found this wonderful website with tons of patterns (http://friendship-bracelets.net/), and I browse it once in a while. I was looking for something simple, and found this little design. In the chart it looks like little hearts, but they turned out more like tiny triangles in my bracelet. I think I'll wear it with a few other thin bracelets for a fun look.

Cool updates for the summer games. I'll have to go get some extra bits for the tracking machine Smiley
I haven't been crafting much lately. Lots of ideas, but no oomph to actually get up and do them.
