This is awesome. I like the idea of having all the characters from the movie. I would love to see what the dog knight and his noble steed look like. The Fireys absolutely scared me to death for some reason in that movie. Even as an adult they are scary.

Hey thanks so much for all the feedback guys. I think I may just leave him as he is. I made him using a basic sock dog pattern that I just modified a bit. I thought I would like him to be more upright like a teddy bear instead of being on all fours like a real dog. Then I just played around with the shape of the face and made a fold to make him look like he was smiling.

I've been lurking around here for a long time, but I think I'll actually post something. I made Ace the high flying sock puppy today. He is complete with a aviator cap and a scarf to keep him warm (and look cool flapping in the wind) whilst soaring in the blue skies.

I made Ace out of a pair of baby socks that I dug due to their awesome color scheme. His ears where made out of some white fleece because it was hard to make some decent ears out of that small of a piece of sock. The fluffy fleece looks pretty good sticking out of his aviator cap I think. While making ace I thought that his arms sticking out the way they did and the way he is looking up made him look like he wanted to be flying. So I looked up a pattern for making a people size aviator cap and adapted it for Ace. I made it out of a bit of vinyl I had lying about. His scarf is made of a scrap of red fleece. However, I think I'll change it to brown, because I am anal retentive and I think red messes up his color scheme.

The other thing I would like to do is make him some goggles. He is a little guy though and I'm having a hard time thinking of how to make the goggles. I was thinking of making them with cardstock. Possibly print and image and then attach something like a strip of vinyl or a small bit of elastic to make the band. Any ideas??

It looks great and I agree I actually like the marker look. You get tired of seeing everything being absolutely perfect all the time a handmade touch is nice. I love the composition.
