1  Re: Sock Monkey/ Sock Critter Swap Round 5 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sdelnegro514 on: July 11, 2012 08:49:45 AM
I love everybody's sock monkey's!  I received from Calsters a long time ago, but have been
unable to post photos of my mom's awesome sock monkey because my internet's been down
due to a splice in the line in my area.  I'll keep trying to post the photos though.  I don't want
anyone to think I've disappeared.   Cry

I've finally got the photos to upload properly!!  Yay!!

Here is my mom's awesome new Sgt. Pepper's inspired sock monkey!  His jacket is based off the
one that Paul McCartney wore in The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's album photos.

And here is the small item Calsters sent me, a pot holder!

Thank you so much Calsters, we absolutely love the sock monkey!!

And to sdelnegro: the wrapped (red & gold wrappers) frogs & toads were handmade as well.  I was super stoked to find the red & gold candy wrappers - they JUST FIT the little toads/frogs & looked so cute!  I have a ton of wrapper left over & plan on making some more of the little chocolates & handing them out at the movie.  Smiley
(Thanks for getting me into chocolate making, btw.  I've never done it before, and now I'm addicted!  I bought a bunch of extra molds when I got the mice & frogs - I plan on making mustache pops later! LOL!)
Ooh, I didn't know those were homemade too!  I tried one of the ice mice, and they are awesome!
I've been trying to hold off on eating them until tomorrow night.   Wink  And I've wanted to try chocolate making ('cause of chocolate frogs), so know I've got the perfect excuse.   Cheesy

A couple of pictures from the NY premiere:
Rupert and Emma signing my book:

Matthew Lewis stopped signing a few people ahead of me, Daniel Radcliffe started a few people
away from me in the opposite direction, and Tom Felton and Alan Rickman didn't sign near the
section I was in.  But it was still super awesome!!!

I finally think I've got the pictures to work so I can post the awesome stuff I received from

A ton of candy: homemade Ice Mice and Peppermint Toads, along with wrapped candy/snacks
(more Peppermint Toads, Chocolate Frogs, Leprachaun's Gold, and Skiving Snackboxes).

A super cool Monster Book of Monsters (filled with even more candy and snacks: Bertie Botts
Every Flavor Beans, a box of Lemonheads, and Dried Gillyweed (a seaweed snack)), and Lrigrem
was kind enough to provide some bandaids incase of any bites from the book.

A set of Golden Snitch earrings & necklace, and a Hallows symbol necklace.  I wore the earrings
and Hallows necklace to the NY premiere/movie screening last night.

Also, Lrigrem sent gummy spiders, gummy penguins (I love penguins!), and a container of glow

Thanks again soooo much Lrigrem!  I love everything!!

VanGo87 and I decided on a personal swap because she had wanted some Red Vines, which aren't available where she lives, while we were both crafting for the A Very Potter Musical craft swap.  My package to her is still on its way, but here is the awesome stuff she sent me!

A beautiful red and gold Gryffindor crochet drawstring bag, with red and yellow hairclips attached:

Two Canadian coin purses (the sock one's my favorite and is also a keychain):

A necklace with some Floo Powder:

A Canadian keychain and homemade ruler bookmark:

A magic towel:

Beaded earrings, three rings and bracelet, all in Gryffindor colors:

Also a Canadian bracelet:

And Canadian candy, which I have already started to eat:

Thank you so much VanGo87, I love everything!

I received from Skookum today, and everything is totally awesome!   Cheesy

Two (!) awesome drawings/paintings of Harry & Ron from the sequel with the lines
"Where've you been all my life?" and "In a cupboard under some stairs."

A Voldemort marionette!  His body had detached from his head at some point in the
mail, but thankfully I was able to fix him.  It is the coolest idea ever.

And I think this has to be my absolute favorite: a Harry doll!!  I had asked for one,
and Skookum made a super adorable supermegafoxyawesomehot (could not
resist   Wink) doll.  He's got moveable arms and legs, and he's pretty tall!

She also included a package of Red Vines.  My sister took them right away to try and
create the little cowboy instructions that are on the package.   Grin

Thank you soo much!  I absolutely love everything!

Skookum received on Monday, I think, so I figured I'd post the pictures I have, and I'm sure
when she gets the chance she'll post her photos.  I really hope she likes everything...

A crochet Rumbleroar (I realized after I sent, I forgot to make him his hat  Cry) and he also
had a note with him from Draco, but I didn't take a picture of that.:

A washcloth puppy from Harry and Ron.  I included a note from them that had said they
got their puppy, Red Vines, from Hermione and asked Skookum to help care for them while
they are at Hogwarts.  I got the idea for it from the scene in the sequel where Hermione
gives them the scrapbook and they chant "puppy" over and over.   Cheesy:

A painted totebag with Draco's homemade dark mark to convince Voldemort on one side:

And a cartoon Snape on the other (I had found the cartoon online and thought it was cute):

I had also included a package of Red Vines.

I just received from chughes225 today, and I have a ton of pictures (taken on my cell phone, since
my camera isn't working.  So if you have better pictures, please feel free to post them chughes!).

My package arrived by owl post and was very neatly tied with green ribbon in a really cool blue box
with HP stickers.

And inside was a little trunk and brooms!!  (Which had been tied to the top of the trunk before I opened it;
I forgot to take pictures before.)

Inside the trunk were two Bludgers attempting to get lose from their chains, a bat, a Quaffle, and a tiny
Golden Snitch!

A closeup of the detailed painting inside of the trunk:

Also there was a letter from The Wizarding Cleaning Service and a note from Harry:

The letter said: "Dear Shannon, While cleaning out the flat that Harry and Ron were living in after
the defeat of Lord Voldemort, we discovered a few things left behind.  This Quidditch set and brooms
were one of those things.  This one came with this note....  After reading this we immediatly sent it on
its way to you.  We apologize that the snitch's wings are out and that its not in its compartment.  We
had a very hard time catching it and were unable to contain it.  We hope you enjoy this gift.  Sincerely,
The Wizarding Cleaning Service."

The note from Harry said: "Please forward this Quidditch set and brooms to Shannon.  We had Hermione
use the Reducio spell to shrink it so it would be easier to store.  I know she will treasure it as much as I
did.  Thanks, Harry Potter."

Thank you soo much Cristen for everything!!  I can't thank you enough, and I really hope you'll enjoy
what I'm making you.   Grin  Grin

I received from shutterbugkate!  And I love everything!

First off: a red, white & blue stars bandanna with a little button:

Second: a red, white & blue wristband:

Fingerless skeleton gloves (which I'm currently wearing  Wink):

A great decorated mug (the bottom says: "Coffee for Killjoys only.  Decafe not permitted.):

An amazing canvas painting with lyrics from "Sing" and the spider:

The lyrics are: Girl, you've got to be what tomorrow needs, For every time that they want
to count you out, Use your voice every single time you open up your mouth."

And several extras: Pop Rocks candy, Gummi Spiders (which look just like
the Killjoys spider!), two rolls of Duct Tape in black and yellow/gold, and
the coolest thing ever...a jumbo glow stick with a gun holder!

Thank you soo much shutterbugkate!!  I absolutely love everything!!

I've received my package from beefishie today!

Here's everything in one picture (the purple paper underneath is what the box
was wrapped in):

A close up of the can, and the lid:

Ornaments of a gingerbread man, a star, and a Christmas tree.  The wreath is a Christmas colored
hair tie (thank you beefishie for correcting me!):

A scarf (which will be great considering how cold it is here.):

10 gift tags:

A stocking ornament:

A bookmark (that will be used a ton, I'm always reading.) and a cute note:

And candy canes, cinnamon sticks, Wonka candy, and Ghiradelli Chocolate Peppermint coffee!

Thank you so, so much Hannah!  I love it all!  I can't wait until you get my package!
