1  Re: Need help making Fleur de Sel caramels in Dessert by jaberella on: November 26, 2008 04:07:08 PM
Here's a pic of them all wrapped up Cheesy

I would really recommend this recipe. I doubled the amount of salt in the recipe and sprinkled some on top for show. LOVE them!

2  Re: Jar of Mini Whimsies Round 2 Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by jaberella on: July 16, 2008 12:40:59 PM
Oh I just adore my jar!! Dorothy went a little crazy on mine and sent me SO much fun stuff. My 3½ year old really enjoyed opening it and going through it all as well!

My little one wearing a necklace she found in the jar and claimed straight off the bat

The spoils. We had so much fun with this!

Thank you Mamaphunk for putting it together and especially Dorothy for making it a fabulous first swap for me

You guys all did great!! That was so, so much fun to look through everyone's jars so far. Dorothy I hope you love yours. Mine sounds amazing!! I can't believe it was $18 shipping, yikes! Yours was $9.66, maybe I should have stuffed it more, lol.

Here's my teaser Smiley

Gosh, can I admit that after seeing everyone's jars I am nervous? I hope Dorothy likes hers!!

4  Flannel receiving blankets to PJ bottoms recon in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jaberella on: September 13, 2007 10:55:06 AM
OK, so, NOT a challenging recon to be sure, but it came out really cute. I got a new machine that came with a gathering foot so I had to try making shirred ruffles around the bottom. I also tried my hand at appliqué, which is harder than I thought Huh

5  A-line top and capris in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jaberella on: September 09, 2007 10:21:49 AM
This is my first time making pants. It's SO easy. I also tried my hand at appliqué and I guess it came out OK. I added the heart shaped pocket. The top of the pocket is a little fluttery but all in all it's just as I wanted it and cuter Cheesy It's a gift for a friend's daughter so no action shots but here it is

6  Skirt with underskirt, how would you make this? in Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions by jaberella on: September 03, 2007 09:48:29 AM

I'd like to make this skirt. I know the top skirt is shirred, not sure if the underskirt is shirred but it's certainly loose, and not sure if the band at the waist is attached to the underskirt or attached over both after the fact. So I just wondered if you saw this and wanted to make it how would you proceed?

7  IKEA has super cute fabric in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jaberella on: August 14, 2007 02:07:46 PM
I was at IKEA yesterday and they have the cutest fabrics. the vast majority of them are for furniture and are therefore too heavy for clothes but they do have quite a few patterns in dressmaker weight (clothing) and they are very affordable at $3.99 a yard. The patterns tend to be BRIGHT and LOUD and LARGE repeats but I found a cute one, this is it, my scissors are there so you can see the size of the repeat

Anyway, just sharing Cheesy

8  12 yards of tulle for this tutu in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jaberella on: August 12, 2007 09:44:10 AM
Ugh. But it's finally done. I made it for my friend's 7 year old, who's birthday party is in two hours... and I just finished it a few minutes ago Wink I sewed on some beads to make it a little sparkly. Her mom told me she is really into blue, I would have done PINK but I have a 2½ year old and she is still really into the pink Wink

Look how HUGE it is. It doesn't even fit onto the seat part of my couch!

Thanks for looking. I hope she likes it!

9  Re: Paisley dress, my first design/homemade pattern in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jaberella on: August 02, 2007 04:21:15 AM
Thanks ladies, you all are so kind. I just am so excited it also fits well, I have made things before that just didn't work. I put it on my daughter this morning and it looks just how I'd planned. The neckline kind of becomes the sleeves, if you know what I mean

10  Paisley dress, my first design/homemade pattern in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jaberella on: August 01, 2007 09:09:00 PM
I am really thrilled with how well this came out. I was driving my daughter to school this morning and I got inspiration for a dress. This is how it came out Smiley

Detail of the top

That neckline is a half circle on each side so if you were to look down on the dress the neckline is a complete circle around her neck. I'll try to post some action shots tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!
